BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - Raised in Liberty, TX, this musician started his songwriting career right here in College Station while attending Texas A&M University.

For this week’s Free Music Friday, Jacob Stelly joined First News at Four, and although he performed a song from a few years ago, he says more music is coming soon.

“I’ve been instructed not to tell a date, but we do have a new project coming. We have a couple songs coming out here real soon and I’m very excited about it. I’ve been sitting on this music for a while,” Stelly said.

He also said that although his parents saw music as a bit of a bad influence at first when he became interested in college, that never stopped him from loving it.

“College is a stressful time. So having an outlet like music is really nice and handy. It started off as just kind of a hobby and progressed into something a whole lot more demanding,” Stelly said.
