BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - The National Weather Service and Storm Prediction Center have issued a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH until 11am for the Northern Brazos Valley.

  • WHO: Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Houston, Lee, Leon, Madison, Milam, Robertson, Trinity, Walker Counties
  • WHEN: Until 11am Sunday
  • IMPACTS: Strong, damaging wind gusts in excess of 60-65mph. Hail up to the size of a quarter or half dollar could be common in storm activity. Isolated instances of hail to the size of a ping pong ball (1.5″) is not ruled out. An isolated tornado concern or two.
  • WHAT TO MONITOR: A line of strong to severe thunderstorms moving west to east across I-35, with the tail-end of the activity sliding through the Northern and Central Brazos Valley. Isolated, elevated thunderstorms will have the ability to rotate, potentially creating a hail or large hail concern between 7am and 11am to noon Sunday.
