Zi Ling RI

 

Zi Ling is a distinguished visual artist based in Bath, known for her captivating paintings and mixed media works. Born to the renowned Chinese painter HuiTao Lin, a pioneer of the 85 New Wave Movement, Zi Ling has a rich artistic heritage. She honed her skills at prestigious institutions including the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Chelsea College of Arts, and the Central Academy of Fine Arts in China.

Zi Ling's artwork has been exhibited extensively at prestigious venues and exhibitions across the UK and China. Her pieces are part of the permanent collection at the National Art Museum of China and are held by private collectors in over 14 countries, including Korea, France, the US, Bulgaria, Canada, the UK, Singapore, China, Italy, Denmark, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, and Germany.

Her exceptional talent has earned her numerous accolades, including the President's Choice Award RI (2022), the Richard Plincke RI Prize (2021), the Cass Art Prize (2019), the DAC Beachcroft Space Prize (2018), the Frank Herring Easel Award (2018), the First Prize of the Leathersellers Award (2016), and the Rosemary & Co. Prize (2015) from Princess Michael of Kent. Additionally, she won the Royal Academy of Dance Portrait Competition in 2022.

Zi Ling is a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours and co-Artistic Director of the cross-disciplinary art company 2617KUNST. In December 2022, she completed an artist residency at the Royal Opera House, further showcasing her versatility and commitment to artistic exploration.
