Rosa Sepple PPRI

Rosa Sepple PPRI was born in 1951 in London to Italian/British parents, Luciana and James Wright. She spent her formative years in Northern Italy, growing up with her Italian grandparents in Treviso, near Venice. During this time, she spent a great deal of time in the studio of her grandfather, Italian artist Salvatore Casagrande. After returning to England and attending grammar school, Rosa married photographer Ed Sepple. After raising two sons, she was able to devote most of her time to painting. Starting her career in the late nineties, Rosa now has a worldwide following of private collectors and has participated in numerous major art exhibitions, including the Royal Academy and the Ruth Borchard Self Portrait Exhibition.

Rosa was elected a Member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours (RI) in 2004. She has had several solo shows in fine art galleries throughout the UK, including a sell-out exhibition of 120 paintings at the Mall Galleries, London, in 2015, which coincided with the release of her first book, ‘Out of the Blue.’ Three more highly successful shows followed: ‘Reflections’ at the Mall Galleries, ‘Dreamscapes’ at Adrian Hill Fine Art in Holt, Norfolk, and ‘Girl About Town’ at the Royal Institute of Watercolour Artists (RWS) gallery in central London. Rosa has also exhibited in France, Germany, Italy, Greece and China.

In January 2017, Rosa was elected President of the RI, becoming the first female member to receive this accolade. She served as President until April 2022.
