Kate Middleton’s Next Appearance Could Be Sooner Than You Think

Following Kate Middleton's triumphant Trooping the Colour appearance over the weekend, royal fans are already wondering when her next appearance will be. One day before her official return to public duties, Middleton shared an update on her health journey, adding that she hopes to pop up at a few other events this summer. Royal expert Katie Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight that Middleton's presence at Trooping the Colour should “give us all a great sense of optimism” and that the princess could be making another public outing at Wimbledon this year, which is taking place between July 1 and 14.

Since Middleton is a longtime fan and attendee of the annual tennis tournament, Nicholl thinks the royal could make an appearance if she gets the clearance from her doctors.

“I wonder if we might see her at Wimbledon,” Nicholl shared with ET. “She spoke in that very personal message about wanting to be able to do the things that bring her joy. I think that’s being in nature, that’s being with her children, that’s taking part in everyday school life—but tennis, don’t forget, is something that the princess absolutely loves.”

On Friday, the princess shared a new photo on social media alongside a long caption detailing her progress as she continues to undergo chemotherapy.

"I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days," she explained. "On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well."

Nicholl notes that Middleton's attendance at future engagements will be dictated by how she feels on that specific day.

“She was very honest in that message,” the expert said. “She said there were good days, and there were bad days when she was tired. I think we have to assume that Trooping was a good day, but she is still going through cancer treatment. She’s spoken about this need to be able to go through this period privately for her own recovery, but also for her and her family to have that much-needed privacy.”
