Her treatment is ongoing and still difficult despite her Trooping the Colour appearance.

Though Kate Middleton is a member of the British royal family, her cancer treatment is still affecting her like it would any person with the disease. And despite putting on a brave face for the public at Trooping the Colour, Middleton is still concerned about her health and happiness of her family.

"She might be the Princess of Wales, but she is still a mother and wife and going through the same set of emotions and worries and fears as anyone else in that set of circumstances would be," Ailsa Anderson, former press secretary to Queen Elizabeth, told People in its latest issue.

Middleton is preparing to take on more events in the months ahead (though she skipped Royal Ascot), but her cancer treatment is still difficult. A source close to the royal household told the outlet, "The treatment is punishing, and it is different for different people. And the side effects can be unforgiving."

Prince George, Prince Louis, and Princess Charlotte, however, likely appreciate the effort that Middleton is putting into keeping their lives as normal as possible. "The children won’t remember Mummy shaking hands or really care," royal historian Amanda Foreman explained. "But they will recall Mummy making cakes [or when] she went off to the local shop and bought something or took them somewhere."

In the meantime, Middleton will continue to recover and take on engagements—and smaller family events—as she sees fit. "She has been doing what’s right for her and recovering privately at home," another royal household source told People on June 19. "She is dealing with it the best she can."
