My Tried-and-True Airport Uniform Is From This Katie Holmes-Worn Brand

When it comes to dressing for travel, my priority is always comfort. It doesn’t matter what activity or dinner or person I have waiting at my destination, I’m rarely caught trekking through the terminal in any type of pants besides leggings or sweatpants. Jeans are always out of the question. 

And while my airport wardrobe changes from time to time, once I find something I like, I stick with it. Especially because curating that perfect travel day ‘fit comes down to a science. You want to be cozy and comfortable, but still stylish enough so you’re ready for anything when you arrive at your destination. You have to be warm enough to withstand the harsh blast of plane air conditioning without bundling up so much that you immediately sweat on arrival. It’s a careful balance, and fortunately, I found an athleisure set that ticks every box—and it’s from the same brand seen on Katie Holmes, Olivia Wilde, and Jennifer Lopez.

Alosoft High-Waist Head Start Legging 

I’ve been decked out in Alo Yoga gear for my last three trips to the airport. Specifically, an Alosoft set, which I own in two colors and includes the brand’s buttery soft Head Start leggings and matching sports bra. Both styles, which are available in six colors, have a more elevated look than the typical activewear set I would toss on for a Tuesday pilates class. The contrasting ribbed panels and bikini bottom seaming on the leggings are inspired by 80s athleisure while the polyester-elastane blend is a breathable and flexible fabric that moves with me—whether I am working out or just hustling to my gate. 

The material feels cozy and soft (almost like sweatpants) in a way that a lot of my other leggings don’t. They’re also not overly compressive, which I prefer for low-impact workouts or causal activities. The high-rise fit and seaming flatter my frame and elongate my legs, too. One shopper raved about the versatility of these “comfortable” and “stylish” leggings, while another said that they’re “like butter.” One person added that “everyone compliments the set,” while a third noted that they do “not roll down [at the] waist.” 

Alosoft Head Start Bra 

The Head Start bra, which comes in identical colors with similar seaming and ribbed detailing, has adjustable straps so I can customize the fit to my exact shape. The material and construction is comfortable and soft enough that the straps don’t dig into my shoulders either. Reviewers called the style “one of [their] favorite sports bras ever,” and said “the fabric is thick enough that you won’t nip through but also so soft and silky,” so it’s comfortable to wear anywhere. 

While I base my airport outfit around the Head Start leggings and bra, I wear them with the Accolade sweatshirt for extra warmth. The coordinating crewneck completes the look, whether I wear it as a top or just wrap it around my shoulders. The ribbed cuffs and hem tie the styles together, while the midweight French terry cloth fabric makes it transitional for changing temperatures.
