Jennifer Lopez, Reese Witherspoon, and I All Wear These Butt-Flattering Jeans on Repeat

It’s a fact: Some jeans just make your butt look better than others. And Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Garner, and Reese Witherspoon have all gotten the memo that Mother Denim’s jeans cradle your booty in such a precise way that they manage to give even those with smaller and flatter behinds (like myself) a more shapely booty. A few years ago I invested in my first pair of jeans from the celebrity-beloved denim brand, and now I have a closet full of various styles. I honestly can’t stop buying more.

Mother The Runaway Frayed Hem Skinny Flare Jeans

One of Mother’s most popular styles, The Runaway, returns season after season in slightly tweaked leg styles. Earlier this year I was living in the bootcut version, but I’m currently crushing hard on the skinny flare leg with frayed hems. Perfect for wearing with sandals, heels, sneakers, and even boots, the cut makes “your legs look a mile long,” according to a shopper. Nordstrom currently offers the style in two equally cool-girl worthy colors; Monkey in the Middle, a vintage-looking traditional blue wash, and Unlimited Edition, a super light blue with distressed knees. The cotton, modal, polyester, and elastane blend gives just enough stretch to make them comfortable for hours on end, but also enough structure to flatter your figure. 

Mother The Tomcat High Waisted Jeans

While on the hunt for white jeans, I discovered one of the brand’s newest colorways, Cream Puffs, a more polished alternative to the average bright white. Several styles are offered in the warmer tone, including The Tomcat, one of my favorite silhouettes that helped me gravitate toward non-skinny leg jeans. Cropped right above the ankle and flared oh-so-slightly, I love wearing this style with sandals, flats, and heels alike. Reese Witherspoon owns a similar style in this color, recently rocking them with a white sweater while boating on vacay. 

Mother The Hustler Roller Flood Wide Leg Jeans

Once upon a time, someone asking if you were “waiting for the flood” in a pair of pants was a really bad dig. However, in 2024 we are all rocking cropped denim with pride. The Hustler Roller Flood is a butt-hugging, wide leg style that flares out and hits right above the ankle. With a stretchy, light fabrication blend of cotton, recycled cotton, and elastane, customers maintain the style is not only comfortable but cut to perfection. One shopper in their 40s was skeptical about their ability to “pull off the new wide legged style.” However, “these jeans still are fitted through the butt and thigh and then widen out in a very flattering way,” they said. If you are looking to make the ultimate style statement and aren’t afraid of a major flare à la Jennifer Lopez, check out a style from the brand’s Snacks! collection.
