State Man is never imperious. He doesn’t do panache or showboating. He just gets the job done, like the postman or a taxi driver. No fuss. But he delivers on time and in the right place like clockwork.

This reticence, coupled with the giant shadow of Constitution Hill, means he doesn’t really get the credit he deserves. He defeated Impaire Et Passe twice earlier this season.
