Last week, Audi introduced its most powerful electric vehicle to date, from the S e-tron GT series.

This week, it is the turn of the RS Q8 SUV Performance combustion engine churning out 640PS, making it the most powerful series production car made by the brand.

It marks Audi’s completion of the Q8 SUV model range. It does so by adding the increased output 640PS model to the 600PS version. Both take their cues from the recently upgraded Q8 SUV.

Pricing and specification will be announced next month, with first customer deliveries due in September.

Visually, the front is lifted with a new front apron, striking air intakes with honeycomb design where each individual is now three-dimensional.

The rear section with two oval tailpipes has a diffuser between them, which is divided down the middle by a reflector.

The twin-turbo-charged, 8cyl RS Q8 accelerates from 0-100kmh in just 3.8 seconds. The more powerful 640PS zips to 100kmh in 3.6 seconds. Permanent quattro is standard.
