Transport Minister Eamon Ryan has admitted the State is facing a €30bn hole in its budget for major transport projects which are scheduled to be built over the coming decades.

The Green Party leader said he would look to use the vast majority of the new Infrastructure, Climate and Nature Fund — which could total €14bn from windfall corporation tax receipts — to fund major projects such as the long-awaited Dublin MetroLink.
