Hugh O'Connell
Hugh O'Connell is Political Correspondent with Mediahuis Ireland. He writes primarily for the Sunday Independent but also contributes frequently to daily political coverage in the Irish Independent. He is a former political correspondent with the Sunday Business Post, former political editor of TheJournal.ie and has previously worked for BBC Radio 4, FIFA, and Newstalk.He holds a BA First Class Honours degree in Journalism from Liverpool John Moores University. A regular contributor to television and radio, he also occasionally lectures in journalism.
