Location, location, location. If you plan on activities around the Banff area, I would recommend staying elsewhere. 15-20 minute drive to Banff PLUS, at best, a 20 minute gondola ride. The novelty wore off after day 1. Gondola stops at 1800 everyday. If you arrive after, you may be waiting the better part of an hour for the next shuttle, if there's room. You may be turned away from the suburban because it's "full" when there are more than enough empty seats. Or you can be on the gondola when it comes to a complete stop 5 times on the way down and makes you later for a reservation. If you only plan to hike the mountain, it's a fine place to stay with nice views. Otherwise, stay in town. I can not believe they do this everyday and can't figure out the shuttle system. Our driver, poor girl, the last morning was crying because she was overwhelmed with 7 people needing a ride in 7 seats. We would have taken the gondola, but it was closed for maintenance. Wish I had better things to say.
Pros. Room service was on time and the food was good,,,
Cons. The restaurant selection was limited. The meal preparation was poor instant mashed potatoes. Overall the food tasted bad. My husband got sick from beef ribs.
