How IKEA planning and design service for business works
- Get inspired by spending time on IKEA.ca and playing with all our free online planning tools. Take notes on which styles, colors, products, and ideas you like so it’s easier for us to understand what designs and looks you prefer.
- Choose a need. Do you want help with a space or a whole room? A particular furniture system? Browse the furnishing areas below to find the planning service you need.
- Book an appointment using the related link below. You can choose an online or in-store appointment.
- Measure and list. We’ll need details about the space or room. Record measurements of height, width, and depth as well as positions/dimensions of electrical outlets, doors, windows, etc. Make a list of your needs.
- Bring your measurements, list of needs, and style notes to the appointment. A drawing or photo of the space is useful, too. We’ll discuss layouts and solutions to create a plan and a shopping list.
- Take time to assess the plan and next steps. Do you need to make changes? Start over? Buy now? When you’re ready, visit us online or in-store to order.

Planning service
Book this service with an IKEA Business Specialist for help and advice on planning furnishing and storage solutions. Whether you need help setting up a new office, creating a kitchenette in your breakroom, organizing your storage room or setting up a display area to showcase your products. You provide the measurements and will help you navigate our immersive planning tools to create a functional solution for your business.

Business Planning - $19.99 per hour
Design service
By booking this personalized service, one of our designers will be happy to provide you with a complete design solution – creating the room of your dreams, tailored to your needs, and budget.
This service includes a complete design solution for one room in your business and take approximately 8 hours in total.
After you book an appointment, one of our designers will contact you to discuss your project via phone or video call. To prepare, we will send you a questionnaire to capture your needs and dreams. From there, they will start designing and connect with you along the way.
We will provide you with a complete design package at the end of the service which includes the following.
• Mood board – materials, finishes, paint colors or other wall finishes, furniture, and accessories
• Detailed floor plan (considering flow & function) including; furniture, accessories, lighting, dimensions,
• Detailed 3D drawing
• Product List of IKEA products
• Design tips & ideas
