About our group
The NACA Inspired Schools Network (NISN) is building a MOVEMENT of Students, Families, and Educators to create excellent schools that elevate the Genius of the Indigenous Communities they serve.
NISN along with our relatives in our Indigenous South Dakota communities are dedicating our GivingTuesday, Giving Circle fundraising efforts to support our Indigenous youth in areas of after-school programming. Educational programming that is immersed in and supports cultural and linguistic practices, as well as experiential learning is vital to our Indigenous youth and uplifts their genius, ways of knowing and helps them feel secure in their cultural identities.
Like so many people around the world, the youth in our communities have experienced a lot these past two years, and social/emotional burnout is high. We’ve recently connected with youth programming partners in NM to help foster re-engagement. So this fundraiser will focus on supporting our youth up north, and work to help youth programming efforts in South Dakota.
NISN believes that student success is not reliant on academics alone, but that culture, identity, and community investment contribute to the overall holistic wellness and success of our children.
