Samantha Arthurs is the author of the Rust series, the Rag & Bone trilogy, Murder Mittens, and My First Exorcism. Her debut novel was published by Martin Sisters Publishing in 2014, and she is currently working exclusively with Cat&Key Books. When she isn’t writing she enjoys reading and reviewing books, hanging out with her dogs Ronan and Vader, playing Dungeons and Dragons, and watching horror movies. She was born and raised in eastern Kentucky, where she still happily resides in the middle of nowhere. Her primary dream in life is to become a full time author, hiding away in her little foothills studio with all her creepy stuff.

I mean that in the most sincere way possible too, that's all there is to it. You just have to sit down, put your ideas on paper, and see where it takes you. I used to be terrified of my own writing, of letting other people see, but at some point you have to decide for yourself and the only way to get over the hump is to push yourself to do it.(less)

I fleshed out the setting first, and then the characters and plot came after. I was feeling the heavy weight of a big emotional loss (a very young member of my family died unexpectedly in an accident) and that also motivated me to write A Crooked Mile.(less)

Book release day is here!

We have finally arrived at the official release day for A Different Shade of Blue! Honestly it feels pretty surreal, despite the fact that I finished the book almost two years ago now. There was just so much waiting, the snafu with the publisher, and just a whole lot of other things that held it back from an earlier publication. It seems like just a few days ago though we started working on the ed Read more of this blog post »

That said, this was a lovely,

Randy Attwood Dear Sammah,
I joined the southern lit lovers group because many of my favorite writers have been Southerners, but especially Walker Percy. If you don't know him, I hope you will encounter him. I have an interesting note to share about him and you can find it here:
