Dee Marie is an award-winning author, photographer, and artist. Her career in publishing began as a managing editor, eventually advancing to editor-in-chief, of an international computer graphics print magazine.

An avid hockey fan with a special admiration for NHL goaltenders, Dee spends September through June chasing NHL games on her flatscreen. Her passion for the sport shines through in her writing, bringing the excitement and drama of hockey to life for her readers.

She also has a vast knowledge of Arthurian Legends, with a reference library overflowing with British, Celtic, and Druid history. Research for her “Sons of Avalon” series also included a visit to Britain, where she was privileged to walk within the inner circle of Stonehenge,

Time Waits For Merlin!

At dinner parties, when the question of, "What do you do?" inevitably comes up, a small crowd always gathers when I answer that I am a novelist. The group grows larger and the room hushes when I add that I am currently working on the second book in my Arthurian novel (after all, everyone grew up on tales of Camelot). Yet, how quickly the masses dwindle, returning to previous merry conversation, fr Read more of this blog post »

Amanda Hi Dee!!! It's Mandie Rose from NaNo (I know... my hair got dark). Can't wait for November to roll around (even if it is my last NaNo in Oswego ::teardrop::) Hope all is well with you. HUGS!!

Dee Marie Hi Irene,

Sons of Avalon: Merlin's Prophecy, explores Merlin's teen years, as well as the youthful Sir Lot. Although Morgan is not a featured player of the first book in the series...Morgan and her sister, Morgause, are introduced and play a pivotal role in the story

Thank you for your interest in Merlin's tale.
Dee Marie

message 30: by Minh

Dee Marie Hey SBG,

Yes, this is the third year that I am doing NaNoWriMo (only proves my point that insanity is a prerequisite of becoming a novelist).

My NaNoWriMo homepage is:

http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/user/232187

I will add you as my writing buddy :]

Edit: Wow, I just saw your NaNoWriMo word count...you are kicking butt...waaaaaaaaaaay to go! I am so proud of you :]

message 19: by Dee

Dee Marie Hey SBG,

I fully understand what you are going through...we all have periods where we feel that we are in a slump. Please know that this too shall pass.

Are you doing NaNoWriMo this year? Sometimes writing 50,000 words in 30 days can jump start your writing :]

Wishing you a most wonderful month of writing. I believe in you!

Dee Marie

message 18: by Dee

Dee Marie Hey SBG,

I am so excited that you are writing again. You MUST put your story on the computer. I would very much enjoy reading it over, as I know it will be wonderful :]

Keep writing!
Dee Marie

message 17: by Dee

Dee Marie Hey SBG,

Dust off one of your favorite that's sitting around, and just start re-inventing it. I did that recently with a short story I started over 10 years ago.

It is amazing what a few years rest can do for the imagination :]

I believe in you! Keep writing!
Dee Marie

Dee Marie Hey SBG,

I have been in construction hell this summer. After living in a hobbit (earth-sheltered) house, a new story has been added to the house. This fall I will turn from a hobbit into an elf, as the new story is like living in a tree house.

The view is beautiful from the new addition, and it will be wonderful when the construction guys leave :]

How are you doing? Read anything good lately? How is your novel coming along?

Thanks so much for stopping by and saying hi.
Dee Marie

message 15: by Dee

Dee Marie Hi Tara,

I am so proud of you. Great job! Always remember that if you write just one page a day, your novel will be finished in a year! Whoo! Whoo!

Keep writing, and be sure to let me know when you have a link posted to read :]

Wishing you a wonderful summer
Dee Marie

message 14: by Tara (last edited Jun 23, 2009 07:02AM)

Tara Hey Dee,
I finally found the time to start a new story. My goal is to make it over two hundred pages long. I've already finished the first chapter. Hopefully when I finish it I could post it on Goodreads for others, including yourself, to read it. have a great summer.

Dee Marie Hey Tara,
Sanity is so over-rated :]

And yes...I too love the the Twilight sage and Harry Potter series :]

Keep on writing!
Dee Marie

message 9: by Tara

Tara You like Twilight? me too. I need more time in the day to write my own stories. I love to write stories based on my own harsh experiences, And when I have my friends read them they look at me with amazement in their eyes. They it's good but dark, and sometimes that I'm flat out crazy. And I tell them "everyone's crazy. I'm just sane enough to admit it." But I would love to show you some of my work some time.

message 8: by Dee
