Later there is a mention of a gaslight, and I thought well, hum, maybe they just have electricity for the big stuff. Now there's a mention of the "iridescent light". I'm so confused!"

Allison Hm, this sounds more interesting to me now that you cleared up where it does and doesn't fit as far as genre goes.

I'm so glad I helped:)

It does go on a bit, after what feels like a tidy ending, and I was ready to stop at that point. If you feel like that too, do read the end. I think you'll be glad you did.

Hannah Glad you liked this one! My understanding of the genres listed and where the book fits in differs from yours, particularly regarding steampunk, but I definitely agree that the last... quarter(?) could have been tightened a lot. The concerns shift entirely to Taya & Cristof after the biggest conflict is taken care of - it's probably a bit puzzling to readers, though I think the pay-off is well worth it.
