✎𓂃 “You are the love of my life and my true new beginning. You are the family I choose.”

I AM UNWELLLLL 😭 I was not prepared for what this book would do to me, but what else can I expect from Kate Stewart??

☆What to Expect:
🐈‍⬛ Frenemies to lovers
🐈‍⬛ A fairly chaotic, curvy sunshiny nurse FMC with a lower socioeconomic status
🐈‍⬛ A rich, semi-grumpy heart surgeon MMC with a lotttt of emotional baggage
🐈‍⬛ Workplace travel romance
🐈‍⬛ Found family
🐈‍⬛ LOTS of spice
🐈‍⬛ And a lil mention of Stewart’s biggest series 🤭🐦‍⬛

☆My Thoughts:
Kate Stewart could write nutritional labels and I’d STILL be in love with her writing. Euro Dreams is a healthy sampling of Stewart’s own embarrassing European travel stories, mixed with a spicy workplace romance, and a tie-in to the Ravenhood world.

I know, I know, I’m normally the FIRST person to tell you that 500+ pages for any romance is an excessive waste of good paper and my time. This author, however, is the exception to that rule for me. By the halfway point, I was convincing myself well past my bedtime that “one more chapter (and another, and then five more)” was justifiable (up until the ugly tears ensued, thanks for those Kate!!).

As someone who’s never been to London or France (but has ALWAYS wanted to), the setting of this story was every part of my own European dreams 💂‍♂️🇫🇷 (minus the heavy snow, ya’ll know Minnesota has that white fluffy shit 80% of the year, I don’t need any of that infiltrating my dreams lmao). I loved the main characters' tours around the cities, but the main event?

⋆₊⊹⁀➴ LUCIAN ASTON 🔥

First off, that name?! My mind IMMEDIATELY went to ACOTAR and as soon as this MMC’s name was mentioned, I melted 🫠 This man was FIRE and gave me (much less toxic) Christian Grey vibes, but with all the growth we love to see in our men! The way he actively works on himself and shows up for Jane, while still being the domineering Dr. Prick we love is 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼
✎𓂃“As a scientist and surgeon, I find the human body fascinating. As a man, I find the female form utterly intoxicating. But when feasting on your body, I find myself utterly fucking consumed. Now spread your legs for me, Jane, so that I can soak you in my conviction.”

Jane aka Cheeky, on the other hand, is the reason this book was docked a star for me. I’m beyond sorry, Kate, if every single one of Jane’s bad luck moments were your own, but the level of chaos that follows this woman is insane. Lucian was a complete saint for not being bothered in the slightest by all her mishaps, bc I would have likely exploded! Her self-deprecation, tendency to self sabotage, and way too many "kitty" mentions were not my cup of tea. But, true love I guess!

I did admire her though, with her backstory growing up choosing her own family, and how she hustles every day to be in the position she’s in. She truly brought out the best in Lucian, after everything he’d lost in his life, and became the catalyst for bringing part of his past back to him.
✎𓂃“Whether you’re aware of it or not, you’re the brightest light in every room you grace.”

☆The Cover:
While I do understand all the aspects thrown together on this cover and how they each relate to the story, I cannot get past the mishmash of graphic styles. There are silhouettes, flat illustrations, some with outlines (of varying weights) and some without, vibrating colors, one single shadow, and the fonts??? I’ve seen MUCH better from this author’s book covers, and while the story involves chaos, I don’t see how translating that to a book’s cover can do anything but turn a reader off from it 🫣

There’s much more I dislike about it but I’ll end my mini rant there lol.

☆The Ravenhood Tie-In:
All my Flock fans will love the mentions in this! Jane and her sister are actually from Triple Falls, where they became very close to a few of the Ravens. I won’t say who they are, but I believe this story will set up the next Ravenhood POV quite nicely 🤭

☆Would I Recommend?
I would absolutely recommend for any Kate Stewart fan! Just pay no mind to the cover 🤪

☆Quotes:
✎𓂃“If you truly want more, fair warning, I can be a sexual fucking heathen with an insatiable appetite and I will push every boundary you set for me.”

✎𓂃“If you’re feeling any sort of buyer’s remorse right now, I think it’s important you know it’s much too late, Doc. You already took the kitty home and petted it. No refunds.”

✎𓂃“So, unless Lucian actually voices his feelings aloud, which, according to him, is rare, the continual guessing game keeps him the living definition of an enigmatic man. Sadly for me, something I find sexy as hell. Which may be a result of too many damned romance books. Maybe they’ve warped my sexual imagination and upped my expectations of the common man. Oh frickin’ well, I’ll give up breathing before I give up my spicy romance.”

✎𓂃“I’ll never tire of her because I love her.”
