My rating is an outlier so I strongly encourage readers to read many of the glowing reviews about Listen for the Lie.
What I liked about the book:
1. Format: Primarily from Lucy's POV and then interspersed with podcasts about trying to solve her friend's murder.
2. Plot: Lucy is the primary suspect in her friend's murder but she can't remember anything.
3. Narration: I listened to this on audiobook and the narration is very well done, especially the podcast sections.
4. Grandmother character development: Outstanding! She's a grandma with gumption!
What I didn't like about the book:
1. The voice inside Lucy's head got annoying after awhile.
2. Lucy is not a likeable character because she is very flippant and sarcastic about whether she is a murderer.
3. Lucy's parents are a piece of work. Their character development felt flat and improbable.
4. Everybody is sleeping with everyone else. I felt like I had been dropped into the middle of a Jerry Springer episode.
5. Feels like a YA book which isn't one of my favorite genres.
This book just wasn't for me.

"Listening to this on audiobook. I like the format on how it moves between Lucy’s POV and then plays a podcast. I wish the pace was faster."
