This book was so disappointing. It ruined everything that was built up in 2 books. Felt completely foreign and unfinished. Key characters from previous books weren’t even there and we know nothing about what happened to them and it’s brushed away. A whole new villain is introduce?? Like really?? I’m hoping there’s a secret plan for a book 4 or a new spin off because this was a terrible way to end it. Ugh.

ohhhhh okay! Damn, can't believe we gotta wait 5 years for such an ending.
I don't want to post my full review yet because I don't want to discourage people from buying it, but reading this book literally ruined my day. I was a grumpy mess for hours after just thinking, "How can this be the same person that wrote CoBaB? How can this be the real ending?" Absolutely devastated that the worldbuilding is shoved aside for what basically amounts to unexplained superpowers and that so many plotlines were just completely abandoned.
Sounds like what happened to the Ruined by Rennee Ahdieh. First three books were great and the last felt completely different and ruined the entire series.
