The Berry Pickers

** spoiler alert **
It’s about a little girl getting kidnapped and spending decades of her life with doubts. On the other side we have her family, specially one of her brothers, living and wondering about her. Really nothing unique or breathtaking happens through this book. We just read about two main characters struggles and suddenly someone decides to tell the truth and Ruthie goes back home with no much trouble.
Well I got bored 😑

Oh dear. I’m only on Chapter 4 and already feel a little bored. I was hoping it would pick up, as o had high hopes from the description.

I agree Marisa. This review is completely missing the cultural aspect in the story. The additional tragedy experienced by the indigenous community.
Well A Council of Dolls actually talks about that. This book finally gets to denouncing "white people taking the Indian out of you" at the very end and doesn't actually treats the topic
To people who talk about cultural aspects:
this book is categorized as a thriller and mystery novel and its synopsis mostly emphasizes on the girl’s abduction. So I think lots of people (like me) choose it to solve the puzzle and enjoy the thrill (because of the genre). The cultural stuff aren’t the main purpose here.
