What a page-turner! From the moment I saw the photo cover I was hooked. Manning pulls you in from the get-go with a truly unique medical condition teenager Erica O'Donnell must navigate. Manning has done another superb job with this book. Her characters promote empathy as well as intrigue for a story that gets more complicated and surprising with each chapter. The pacing and flow of events were spot-on. I found it hard to put this one down. Not being a Southerner, I loved the little quirky phrases and mannerisms that echoed the Southern roots of the characters. All in all this book satisfies - on many levels: great character development, intrigue, conflict, and a bit of romance for those who appreciate that kind of twist. A must-read for sure!
