What Lies in the Woods

This book was a donation to my Little Free Library Shed so I decided to read it. I shouldn't have read it at night.
Something happened to best friends over 22 years ago that caused one of the girls to be attacked, and a serial killer to be put away. The problem is, their testimony was a lie. And now, Olivia, wants to tell the truth. What is going to happen now? 22 years later?
So, full disclosure.
I typically don't gravitate to stories like this one any longer. I see the words "serial killer" and I am gone. I just am finding myself less than interested in going there. Authors have a tendency to want to describe the gory detail, and I just don't want to "see" it or experience it.
But, I was interested in this story - because it was more about the girls telling lies. And I was curious about what that was about and why they felt the need to do it. That intrigued me. So that is why I decided to read this story.
My thoughts:
It had flawed, but believable characters.
I loved the twists and turns. Especially when I didn't see them coming.
I loved the true crime feeling.
This was a slow burn thriller that picked up speed toward the end.
It was atmospheric, suspenseful, and kept me on the edge.

You are so lucky your Little Free Library Shed has so many great books! I admit I got some gems from mine, but most of the time it's the local school books that were never returned, evangelist lit., how to books and even a video tape once. 😒

I truly am lucky. I think it might be my location (a well-traveled residential street) - or that I keep it refreshed often. I think readers know I am working it to make it interesting - showcasing books and considering their interests. :) I also have a BIG LFL. Have you seen my pictures?
