it was amazing
bookshelves: audio, libby-app, mystery, read-in-2022, jurassic-park

I have been Googling but there's not much there. I got so desperate I even used Bing but the results were the same if a bit slower. - Joyce

I'd forgotten Bing was even a browser, so this made me laugh a bit more than maybe it should have.

The Bullet That Missed was another fantastic installment to the Thursday Murder Club series and (dare I say it?) even better than the first two. These books really do keep getting better and better.
I love the 4 main characters and their voices. I love that they're old but instead of sitting around talking about the good old days, they're still out there squeezing every last drop out of life.

description

In fact, I love this one so much that I'm finding it hard to give it a proper review. I just want to squeal READIT!READIT!READIT!
But that's kind of stupid. You know it and I know it.
Anyway.
If you're already a fan of this series, you know what I'm trying to say.
If you're not a fan...well, that's ok, too. We can still be friends.
But you're probably a serial killer, so I'll be keeping an eye on you from here on out.
Highly recommended for cozy mystery lovers.

I died a bit!

I can't wait for the next book! Probably shouldn't hype it up in my head but...

I just love this genre!

Melanie Daves I totally agree that I also love them and love that they "squeeze every last drop of life." I love also that the truth is not black and white. They have seen all of the things in their lives to know that it's not, so we also get to have people like Bogdan and Viktor added. I also love how Chris and Donna are kind of growing up alongside of them, engaged in the mystery a little more indirectly while learning what it means to have love in their lives, which is so adorable. My favorite moment of this one was when Ibrahim messaged Kendrick to help him. He tends to always have my favorite moment in every book so far where he shares a very tender and vulnerable moment with someone.

Anne Ibrahim is always the tender one, isn't he? I think everyone feels the need to protect him and that brings them all closer.

Chris and Donna - oh! I love them.

Thank you! I'm scared to jinx the next book, but they're getting better and better with each one. I hope he can hold steady and keeps creating interesting adventures for these guys.

Catalina Of course. Yes indeed! Fingers crossed 🤞🏽.

Anne I've been trying to find more stories like these, but The Thursday Murder Club really is the best series I've come across in the 'oldsters' category.

message 13: by Lynn (new) - rated it 4 stars

Lynn Reynolds I agree that this series just gets surprisingly better with each book. Saying that with fingers crossed, of course!

Anne LOL! If the next one is a stinker, I'm going to cry.

Pete I can't wait for the next book! Probably shouldn't hype it up in my head but...

I think he's taking a break to write something else so you will have a bit of a longer wait than normal.

Pete Oops. After book 4 I meant.

Anne Well, I can understand that. Do you know what he's planning to write?

Pete Anne wrote: "Well, I can understand that. Do you know what he's planning to write?"

He talks a little bit about it...

(I'd link to the article but Goodreads won't allow it)

"I’d love one of those books that’s a caper around the world, but that also has some truth about the world, and also makes you laugh and has also has some of the aesthetic of Thursday Murder Club, but it’s Da Vinci Code. And I couldn’t quite find one,” he said. So I thought I’d quite like to do that—a sort of Thursday Murder Club meets The Da Vinci Code."

Osman told BBC News that although he is taking a break, there will be “loads and loads more” Thursday Murder Club novels. "I love the four of them as a gang and I love the balance between them," he said.

"You’ve got two working-class characters, two middle-class characters, two very strong women, two slightly more brittle men. And I love [that] I can talk about Britain, through those four characters.

Anne I like the sound of his new book idea! Thank you, Pete! I hate that you can't link anymore so I appreciate the effort.

Al I was looking for information about a book I owned 30 years ago. I tried every Google trick I could think of, and nothing. I tried Bing and I found if. #truestory

Gary Thanks for the review. It has encouraged me to read it after I finish The Man Who Died Twice. I'm not sure I like the second book as much as the first, but I've only read 2/3 of it. My opinion may change after I finish it.

Savannah Bing is a search engine, not a browser :)

Laura Edwards I love these books, too! The characters are great.

carol. I mean, I would think serial killers might also be fans of the series :D
