I really pushed my self thru this book to completely read it and it was just plain horrible.
I know this author writes horror comedy but this was just awful. It reads like Slappy from goosebumps.

I am listening to this book right now, and I’ve got about five more hours to go… I’m going to finish it because I loved his first book about the vampires in the book club, but this one is pitiful. I could care less.

That was my review, Lee. And I wholeheartedly agree! I'd recommend "The Haunted Forest Tour" which I am currently reading and has been good so far. It's what Grady Hendrix' book should be. I hope he takes notes.
I loved the haunted forest tour. Agreed. I also DNF and still hold my love for Mr. Hendrix. Gave it 1 star, my review is in here somewhere. This one had dolls, so an automatic no for me. I was also very tired of reading about the siblings bicker for the first 150 pages. Meh….
Lol it is like Slappy! If this is your first book from Grady I highly recommend trying something else. This was a mess but I’ve loved his other stuff
@rachel nah this was my second I read my best friends exorcism and liked that one I also heard southern guide to slaying vampires is pretty good too so I will check that out. But this one was not it lol
Slappy has nothing to do with Pupkin except for the fact that they're both puppets.
It definitely felt like a Goosebumps for adults but in a disappointing way
I keep seeing other reviews that mention all the dark humor. There isn't any humor, dark or otherwise.

YES I’m struggling to finish because it has some satirical horror like Slappy…. But it’s not RL Stine quality
