RULES OF FALLING by Leslie Tall Manning will engulf your senses and your time--I finished her novel in one night because there was no way I was going to put it down. Manning pens another engrossing, realistic, and heart-felt young adult novel that never shies away from edgy situations and high-risk drama. Set in modern day Eastern North Carolina, The protagonist, Erica O'Donnell suffers from syncope, which I didn't know much about--Manning is a brilliant researcher who also weaves her facts in so superbly into the narrative, a true master of the genre.
