I certainly learnt a lot about syncope, an illness I’d not heard of until this book.

Generally I find young adult books entertaining but other than Eliza and the effects of her illness, much of this book is about American high school which does not really interest me at all.

There’s a lot of ‘poetic licence’ in this book since Adam is an experienced volunteer firefighter but still in high school! Look up the requirements if you find this as incredible as I do.

An interesting plot twist at the end but overall I didn’t really enjoy this story.
