Read 2 times. Last read December 22, 2023 to December 24, 2023.

I finished rereading this book for the second time, and I loved it just as much. I flew through this book in 3 sittings, and I just loved the characters in this book so much. This book is so surprisingly wholesome and gives me all the warm fuzzy feelings, it's the best.

I fucking loved this book so much, even more than The Martian and way more than I was expecting to. I love Ryland's character and there were moments in this book he had me laughing out loud which rarely happens for me in books. It's hard to discuss this book without spoilers, but I just absolutely LOVED where this story ended up going, it was so unexpected and so beautiful, and it made me cry a few times. This book simultaneously reminded me of Interstellar, Ad Astra, and Arrival, all some of my favorite movies! Reading vlog where I read it: https://youtu.be/IBmz8kzf7DY

Henry I agree with you 100%

fruitfoxreads Me too! I loved this book. The audiobook is also fantastic. I was a little bit iffy about how the main character read at first but after listening to the audiobook for a while, the narrator gave me a different take and I went back to the book really enjoying the character. I think the narrator just really nails Ryland’s humour and snark-it’s entertaining in a way audiobooks sometimes aren’t. Anyways kudos to that guy.

Henry I listened to the audiobook also Matt and thought it was extremely well done. Happy happy happy.

Henry P.S. After finishing the book I emailed Andy Weir asking him if giving the only surviving crew member of the “Hail Mary” the name “Grace” was intentional. He replied within 15 minutes (AMAZE!) that he just couldn’t resist. I love when authors respond to their readers.

Ramona I was wondering about Hail Mary full of Grace too!
Amaze!
This book was incredible - like Interstellar and ET had a love child 🥺🥺🥺 Good Good Good

Connie Raschella Is this a silly question 🤔 Will I like this book if I’m generally not into high science fiction novels?

Henry I believe you will like it. My wife is not at all into science fiction but loved this book.

Connie Raschella Thank you Henry! I’m happy to hear this

Kelsey Absolutely LOVE this book! ☺️ It was the book that got me back into reading. I’ve read it twice now and the second time was with the audiobook, which I highly recommend! The audiobook really brings Rocky to life!
