Thriller, horror, memoir, noir...impossible to categorize and harder still to rate.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for originality, the power of story and who is telling it.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ for blurred lines between fact and fiction, cleverly structured and imaginatively told.
⭐⭐⭐ for characterization.
⭐⭐ for interspersed, a bit obvious, one act plays.
⭐ for making me read a college essay so many times.
I still don’t know how I feel about this book, which is a testament to taking a reader on an unusual reading journey. I do appreciate that this author took conventional genres, experimented with form and did a smash up, mash up.

Great review Victoria and good to read the Adele quote - a goodreads first I think :)Intrigued I had a quick look for this book on Amazon.

I can see where the reviews will be all over the board, while I stand mushily in the middle. I was never quite immersed, perhaps because I was gobsmacked by the author's playing with craft. It was an intriguing read, for sure, and I'll be on the lookout for your thoughts if your curiosity gets the best of you. 😉
