"I'll never forget you; and this I know - if God made room in heaven for all good dogs, I know he made a special place for you."

This is my first go-round with this fine, and affecting classic. I thoroughly enjoyed it, though I hope to never again hear the word entrails repeated so many times . . . particularly in a book aimed at younger readers.

I wouldn't have been able to handle this when I was a little girl. I had a tough enough time reading listening to it as an old lady.

Jim I loved this as a teen. A neighbor had coon hounds & a mule, so I got to go out hunting with him & his son several times. His son, Stony, kept doing it & I took one of my boys out with him. It's quite an experience.
