Reviewing The Twilight Saga is a nearly unwinnable battle. If you admit to enjoying it, you run the risk of being branded an idiot. Luckily I have loads of experience with people telling me I'm an idiot, so I'm cool with it.

Let me paint a picture for you and maybe you'll understand how this little series came to garner such a high rating from me. I read all four of the Twilight novels back-to-back (to back to back) over the course of one magical summer. It was the summer I ceased to be a flotation device for my always potentially drowning children and instead spent my pool days like this . . .

Ahhhhhhhh. After countless hours every summer piggybacking my non-swimming offspring around the shallow end they finally developed some buoyancy and I was able to watch things like this . . . .

and (unfortunately) also some stuff like this . . . .

*shudder*

from the comfort of a lounge chair. That was also the summer I was able to get back into reading again. Thanks to the never-ending Wal-Mart check out line and a pretty little cover that claimed the contents would "Soon Be A Major Motion Picture" I found what became a perfect little fluffy summer obsession read.

There's no doubt in my mind if I read these books today I would have a very different reaction to them. That's why I'm not going to.

Oh, and also? They gave us Jacob, so haters to the left ; )

Karlyflower *The Vampire Ninja, Luminescent Monster & Wendigo Nerd Goddess of Canada (according to The Hulk)* I'm with you.... I enjoyed them for what they were.... fluff! Nothing iconic.... just fluff.

Ginger I still want to strangle Bella but yes, I am sure one would enjoy anything more poolside :)

KaleidoscopicCasey Samesies lady. Except sadly I didn't read them next to a pool, and my tiny people didn't exist yet.
Will never do a re-read.
I probably would hate them now, but I actually might be more disappointed in myself if I still didn't.

Anne Kelly.
*stands up, steps forward*
I am also a Twitard.
It may not have been good, but I liked it anyway, damn it!

Hahahaha ..... quietly?! You??? Is this backwards day?

Anne Shut up, bitch!
(view spoiler)

Kelly (and the Book Boar) Ha! Anne is such a loser!!!

Okay, here's the part where we all become BFFs and I overshare. When the movies came out a friend and I went to an over-21 movie theater to watch them. At the first movie the Twi-Moms were aplenty with Team Jacob and Mrs. Cullen shirts and all and I swore I would one-up their pathetic attempts at fandom (which my friend doubted).

When we went to see New Moon I surprised her by wearing a shirt that said "Jacob Black Was Here" with pawprints on the boobs. But that wasn't all. On the back it said "and here" with prints on the shoulders. My husband kindly informed that I might want to register myself as a sex predator for my Taylor Lautner crush : (

Ginger *Bwahaha*
Yes the books are better poolside and the movies are better with a drink in your hand ;D

Karlyflower *The Vampire Ninja, Luminescent Monster & Wendigo Nerd Goddess of Canada (according to The Hulk)* ....... oh, Kelly...... he was such a fine little piece of jailbait, though.

message 11: by Tadiana ✩Night Owl☽ (last edited Mar 10, 2015 11:43AM) (new) - added it

Tadiana ✩Night Owl☽ So I'll admit that I still have some residual fondness for this whole series. It was fun reading! And I liked the 4th book, except for the very last sappy scene.

I was all Team Edward until I saw the Twilight movie. Robert Pattinson's pallid look just didn't cut it for me. :p I've never figured out how a kid who I thought was so good-looking in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire grew up to be kind of strange looking.

Anne I love you, Karly!

I'm in the fond memory group, too. And, like Tadiana, I was all about Edward till the movie came out. Shovel Face ruined it for me! Now I can't even remember what 'my' Edward looked like. But he was hawt!

Karlyflower *The Vampire Ninja, Luminescent Monster & Wendigo Nerd Goddess of Canada (according to The Hulk)* Robert Pattinson has the UGLIEST face I have ever seen! hands down.... that kid is HIDIOUS!! He just goes to show that the media can sell anyone as hot. (to some people)

I love you too, Anne :)

Anne Have any of you watched the Real Movie Trailer of Twilight. Hilarious!

Karlyflower *The Vampire Ninja, Luminescent Monster & Wendigo Nerd Goddess of Canada (according to The Hulk)* I don't think I have, no..... I'm guessing it's some kind of spoof?

message 16: by Anne (new)

Anne Yes, the do Real Trailers for everything, and it's usually really funny.

Tadiana ✩Night Owl☽ Heh - just watched it. Shovel face. *snort*

Karlyflower *The Vampire Ninja, Luminescent Monster & Wendigo Nerd Goddess of Canada (according to The Hulk)* Hmmmmm, they are not coming up when I search, Anne..... maybe because I am in Canada.

RP does look like someone hit him flat in the face with a shovel. He has no profile.

Try YouTube and "Honest Trailers."

Karlyflower *The Vampire Ninja, Luminescent Monster & Wendigo Nerd Goddess of Canada (according to The Hulk)* Oh...... I did get that. I thought it was called "The Real Trailer"

Please tell me you took pictures. I would greatly appreciate visual proof of such an epic creation.

Kelly (and the Book Boar) I'll have to dig around for the memory stick with the pictures. The only thing I found so far are pics from Breaking Dawn of me sucking down "blood bags."

Kristin You woman *cough* if I can even call you that, our DISGUSTING and nothing but a bunch of cougering vamp tramps and were whores!

Karlyflower *The Vampire Ninja, Luminescent Monster & Wendigo Nerd Goddess of Canada (according to The Hulk)* SOOKIE!!! Go to your corner & read minds or something .... YOU, are not welcome here :P

message 26: by Kristin (new)

Kristin Shhh!!! I'm honing my sneaky trolling skills. Didn't you notice my spelling errors like Anne advised? *runs and hides around the corner*

Shelby *trains flying monkeys* I'm older than all you girls. I read the first one before all the others came out. When I worked in a hotel at night and had fantasies. I'm sorta not ashamed.

Karlyflower *The Vampire Ninja, Luminescent Monster & Wendigo Nerd Goddess of Canada (according to The Hulk)* Oh.... I did notice but was just thinking "human error".... my mistake, please continue being abusive now.
