Absolutely right. There was no way. Plus the fact that do we really believe someone would endure having their bottom wiped for years on end by strangers? Sorry to be gross, but that last twist was too much even for this writer!

Thinking the same thing. How could all those caretakers not notice that she still had muscle tone in her arms and legs. If she hadn't used them in 50 years, they would be skin and bones.

Yeah, that twist should have been left out imo. It took the book over the top and into ridiculousness for me. Less is more imo on the amount of twists Sager threw into this book. I loved it up until the end. Then it was a bit much.
