I fell in love with historical romances and all things Regency—and especially all those dashing Regency heroes—while living in England, where I spent most of my time studying the Romantic poets, reading Jane Austen, and getting lost all over the English countryside.

When I read my first Regency romance in 2012, I was hooked and longed to create my own independent and spirited heroines and dashing heroes. The best part of writing historical romances is falling into history—to live in the world of Regency England through my characters, with dazzling balls, beautiful dresses, and gorgeous houses that I would otherwise never be able to experience. I love the period’s rich history and find that all those rules of etiquette and propriety can be worked to the heroine’s advantage…if she’s daring enough to seize her dreams.

In addition to earning my degrees in the U.S., I have studied theatre in London, Mexican history in Guadalajara, and Spanish in Ecuador. I am an avid traveler and have enjoyed visiting schools and volunteering with children's organizations in Peru, Ecuador, Thailand, and Mexico, and I have amassed thousands of photos I unleash on unsuspecting friends who dare to ask about my travels.

I love to be outdoors! I've been hiking in Alaska, the Andes, and the Alps, including one week spent dangling off the via ferrata in the Italian Dolomites, and I love whitewater rafting (when I don't fall in!). I earned my pilot’s license at Chicago Midway (To all the controllers in Chicago Center—I greatly apologize for every problem I caused for you and Southwest Airlines), and it is my dream to one-day fly in a hot-air balloon over Africa.

I adore all things chocolate, shamelessly dive into ice cream of any flavor, and guzzle Kona coffee by the gallon. A Doctor Who fanatic (everyone says my house is bigger on the inside), I am a terrible cook who hopes to one day use my oven for something other than shoe storage. When I'm not writing, I like to spend my time trying not to kill the innocent rose bushes in my garden.

Anna Harrington provides readers with a historical fiction tale that includes romance, danger, and suspense in A Problem Princess , the sixth book in the series. Set mostly in London, England in the spring of 1818, this novel features General Clayton Elliott, Home Office Undersecretary and new viscount, and Her Serene Highness Princess Cordelia of Monrovia. Princess Cordelia is supposed to visit London to make a match with one of the royal dukes. When she is attacked at a party, Clayton becomes her bodyguard. But who wants her dead? Is it related to the group Scepter who want to overthrow the English government and monarchy?

Cordelia is miserable, but resigned to do her duty to her country. Marriage is the best way to save Monrovia. She’s also intelligent and keeping secrets. Clayton is intelligent, a good fighter, blunt, direct, puts his life on the line for his country repeatedly, and has secrets of his own. The backgrounds of the two main characters are slowly revealed giving insight into their thoughts and behaviors. It was also great to reconnect with characters from the previous books in the series.

This book has a solid plot, with extraordinary characters, and a fascinating mystery. The author captured the cultural lifestyles of the times and brought them to life. With some unpredictable moments in the story, it gradually builds momentum until its action-filled conclusion. Besides the instant attraction and gradual romance between the two main characters, the author weaves in some deep themes related to duty, family, honor, power, trust, social classes, political unrest, reforms, and much more.

Overall, this was an entertaining and memorable novel with some pivotal stressful and emotional moments. I am looking forward to reading more from this author. The series is best read in order.

SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca and Anna Harrington provided a complimentary digital ARC of this novel via NetGalley. All opinions expressed in this review are my own. The publication date is currently set for April 11, 2023.

The first half was better than the second half. We have a body guard & princess romance. I’m not a fan of characters who are princes or princesses because of all the politics that usually accompanies the story, which is present in this book but I couldn’t say no to a bodyguard romance with the forced proximity that comes with it!

It was kind of nice that the H/h were friendly with each other from the start because almost all the couples in this series (from what I can recall) had an enemies/haters to lovers romance. The down side is that there’s not a lot of sexual tension for these two. At least, I didn’t feel any.

The second half dragged; it made me wait too long for the villain reveal although I guessed who it was pretty early. I wonder if that obviousness was intentional by the author since this book concludes the overarching mystery of who Scepter is.

Daring and duty!

Oh my! Not quite the Pauper and the Princess but near enough to feel the heartbreak.
Clayton Elliot found that protecting Princess Cordelia of Monrovia was more than he’d bargained for. No spoilt petulant young woman aware of her own importance, but a sweetly innocent person who is being controlled by her uncle, Prince Ernest. Although Cordelia doesn’t see it. She sees her uncle concerned for her country and her well being. She sees her Duty. Cordelia is hiding a secret, a secret related to her family that’s breaking her heart.
Cordelia must marry and she’s been brought to England to be looked over by the three Royal Dukes, Clarence, Kent and Cambridge, as a potential bride. Duty above all else!
Someone tries to kidnap her and is thwarted by Clayton. The situation becomes more dangerous for Cordelia and Clayton’s determined to protect her, supported by his fellow armory denizens.
His group believes Scepter is still at work. One leading person might have been taken out, but there’s someone behind the group with tentacles everywhere, pulling on strings that will endanger Clayton, his brothers-in-arms, and Cordelia.
Last in the series, this proved to be a satisfyingly stirring and lively romance/ adventure where Scepter is dealt a final blow, though not without cost.

Anna Harrington has done it again. This is the 6th and final book in the Lords of the Armory series, and it was a fantastic and satisfying conclusion. I've loved every one of these books so much. This installment did not disappoint.

When Princess Cordelia of Monrovia is targeted for assassination, Clayton Elliott becomes her bodyguard. This is a very intense action-packed romance. The chemistry between the main characters is great, and the sex scenes are superb. Bodyguard romances are a favorite of mine, and this one was completely swoon worthy.

General Clayton Elliott, Home Office Undersecretary, has been taking down an anarchist group for years and his instincts say it hasn't been irradicated yet. When he saves Her Serene Highness Princess Cordelia of Monrovia from an attack, he's convinced it's associated with his investigation. Acting as the head of her security, their forbidden attraction continues to simmer.

This is the sixth and final book in the Lords of the Armory series. It revolves around a group of military men and government agents tasked with bringing down a treasonous group. The individual pieces are resolved at the end of each book, but the larger investigation continues through the whole series. This one can mostly stand alone, although characters from the other stories (especially books one and three) play a role.

Princess Cordelia has been forced to accompany her uncle on a visit to her British Royal family, with a political marriage looming. Before she can be presented at a welcome event, there is an attempt on her life and Clayton happens to be in the right place at the right time. Forming a quick bond with the only person to treat her as an average person, Cordelia insists that Clayton manage her protection.

I love that this story got off to a quick start, involved some of my favorite characters from the previous books, and managed to incorporate some twists into what could have been a predictable plot. While the villain(s) were not surprising, the way that the followers were called into attack mode was very clever! It was a satisfying end to the series, and I particularly liked the author notes with an explainer of the political climate and actual Royal family lineage.

I received an ARC from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Princess Cordelia of Monrovia knows her duty is to marry one of the royal dukes to bring peace and stability to Europe, but as much as she knows her duty, she can't help but want to be free. When she is attacked at a party, General Clayton Elliot is assigned as her security detail. He believes that Spectre is still out there and is being controlled by someone in power. He just doesn't know who, and Cordelia's life depends on him discovering Spectre's secrets.

I read the second book in this series, and I was not impressed really at all. I didn't think I would ever read another one of Anna Harrington's books, but this cover and blurb drew me in. I do love a good royalty trope. I am so glad I did because this book completely changed my mind about her books. I am now a fan and can't believe I was ready to write her off after book 2. I loved that there was quite a bit of action, and the mystery while pretty predictable was still enough to keep me guessing throughout. I enjoyed both Clayton and Cordelia, and how their relationship built. There were real challenges to them being together, and not just the normal internal issues like I can't get married because love isn't real, or my parents are terrible and have ruined marriage for me. It made the payoff more enjoyable because they had to actually overcome things, and I do so love when a man falls in love first. Clayton was not afraid to show his love or be vocal about it. Overall, one of my favorite reads so far this year! A truly spectacular read.

I can't wait to get my physical copy of this book, and to go back and read some others by Anna Harrington.

NOT THE STRONGEST IN THIS SERIES, BUT A SOLID FINISH

At the beginning of this series, I was over the moon for it. And while the series has had some ups and downs, I am satisfied with this ending and still regard the overall series with joy.

👍 What I Liked 👍

Characters: Cordelia, Clayton, the aunties and the rest of the characters were nice to follow. Clayton in particular touched me. I loved how protective he was of Cordelia right from the start, even before he got to know her. Cordelia is a bit of a cliché - the princess in the golden cage longing to break free - but it worked as a balance to Clayton and allowed him to show off his best side.

Forbidden love: Cordelia is a princess in line to inherit the British throne. Clayton is a general without a drop of noble blood and with a father executed for treason. The two of them were certainly not meant to fall in love. But I always love an element of forbidden love, and here it definitely worked out well.

👎 What I Disliked 👎

Plot: Sadly, the plot was the major let down for me. And as a person who prefers plot-driven books, this was a real letdown. The plot felt far-fetched several times throughout the story and not very realistic. It made me shake my head in disbelief once or twice.

Sceptre: For six books we have followed the evil organisation Sceptre and tried to unravel the true mastermind behind. While we finally got to the bottom of the mystery in this conclusion to the series, it was definitely a let down for me. I was so disappointed. The great reveal actually took away from the previous books and kind of makes Sceptre out to be more of a joke than an actual threat in my eyes.

This was an exciting, breath-holding, fingernail-biting, couldn’t-put-it-down, romantic end to an equally exciting and romantic series. While there is a complete end to Scepter and its leader, it comes at a large cost. It also brings our two wonderful protagonists together to find a very hard-earned HEA. Great writing, a great story, great characters, an exciting plot, and a sigh-worthy romance. With a story as exciting as this one, you need little pockets of heartwarming moments and a tad of wit – and you get all of that. One of my particular favorites was in the epilogue where they received word about the birth of the young princess Alexandrina Victoria to the Prince Regents' uncle, Edward Augustus, the Duke of Kent. You’ll absolutely love our protagonists who are both exceptional people in their own right, but who each feel the need to be loved by a parent who is no longer there – a parent who, to their knowledge, was not all they should have been.

General Clayton Elliott, Home Office Undersecretary, and soon-to-be Viscount is NOT at all satisfied that the hanging of the Marquess of Hawking (A Remarkable Rogue) was actually the end of Scepter. He has no proof, he just feels it in his bones, and he is usually right about these things. He’s sure the real leader is on the continent – somewhere – but where? He’s also sure the remainder of the organization on English soil is just waiting for a signal from that leader before they rise up to overthrow the monarchy and the English way of life.

Her Serene Highness, Princess Cordelia of Monrovia, has accompanied her Uncle Ernest (Uncle Monrovia) on a state visit to England. Cordelia is quite sure that her reason for being told to accompany her uncle was so she could be paraded before England’s Royal Dukes in order to promote a royal marriage between their two countries. While Cordelia chafes at the restrictions on her, she knows it is her fate and she has no say in the matter. She obediently follows directions, shows no emotions, and offers no opinions – until she is left alone in a room and someone makes an attempt on her life. Thoroughly shaken, she profusely thanks her rescuer – and then has to rescue him! He’s a handsome and intriguing soul – and he rescued her – and . . . did we mention handsome?????

Cordelia can think of no reason why anyone would wish to murder her – but Clayton can. Could it be part of Scepter’s plan? What would it gain though? It would seem if it was Scepter’s plan, they would be attempting to take the lives of cabinet members, the Prince Regent, King George, one of the Royal Dukes – not a princess from a small, insignificant country on the continent.

Clayton does his best to keep Cordelia safe, but with more attempts on her life, he knows it is time for desperate measures – even at the risk of his own life. It may very well cost him his life because everybody from the Crown to the Home Office is blaming him – not to mention the villains are after him as well.

I highly recommend this excellently written story. The attraction between Cordelia and Clayton was intense and immediate – as was the danger – and it was a delight to watch it all play out to its final conclusion. Be sure to read the author’s notes at the end because they shed light on where some of the ideas for the scenarios came from. I love how the author took those real-life events and seamlessly wove them into this exciting work of fiction. Great job!

Once this book got going, I got wrapped up in the action! Princess Cordelia of Monrovia cones to England at her Uncles insistence. She meets Clayton at a ball when he saves her from attack and ends up being her personal guard.

More and more threats keep happening to Cordelia and they are trying to get to the bottom once and for all who is behind Secpter.

Some of my favorite parts were when Cordelia just wanted to be regular "Jane Smith" and not a princess. Of course, that is when the romance really heated up between her and Clayton.

This book is a nice addition to the series. The characters are brave and likeable and the Secpter plot unfolded was done very well. Wrapped up with a nice bow.

Thank you to Sourcebooks and Netgalley for providing me a copy of this ARC for my honest review.

As a Home Office Undersecretary and a soldier, General Clayton Elliott is especially suspicious when things are quiet in London. Intelligence suggests that the anarchist group he and his friends have been fighting to eradicate ceased to exist with the demise of its leader, but his instincts say otherwise.

In the midst of this inner turmoil, Clayton meets Princess Cordelia of Monrovia, ostensibly visiting London to make a match with one of her distant cousins, the royal dukes. She’s less than pleased but resigned to doing her duty to her country, but when she’s attacked in the middle of a palace ball, Clayton volunteers to be her bodyguard. He’s convinced there’s a connection between Sceptre and the attempt on Cordelia’s life and he’s determined to find it. Soon it becomes clear that someone truly wants to eliminate Cordelia and as she and Clayton spend more time together on the run, it becomes ever more evident that they can only rely on one another.

This has been a series I have really enjoyed, and I find myself pleased by its conclusion. While I do wish Clayton had gotten a bit more time to shine, I loved the fact that it was more Cordelia pursuing him than anything and she wasn’t afraid to admit her feelings for him. The forbidden aspect of their relationship was also very interesting, and the bodyguard trope is always one I love. These two were in near-constant danger and that kept the pace fast and made the rapidity of their relationship development believable. I really enjoyed seeing these two come together and while I would’ve loved to see more of the Lords of the Armory coming together on the page, I loved that it was still them taking down Sceptre once and for all, as a team. I don’t want to say more and risk spoilers, but this was a solid story and I look forward to seeing what’s next from this author.

A Problem Princess by Anna Harrington was a delightful, actin packed historical that I binged in almost one sitting! Book Six in the Lords of the Armory series stands on its own but brings in most of the other characters at points. There is a plot through the entire series to uncover a underground organization called Spector. In this installment we find a chilling and exciting conclusion! As a reader of the entire series I was very satisfied with all the discoveries and everything is paced in such an exciting way.

For historical fans, Harrington uses real events as drawing off points and you won’t be disappointed. I love to have history come alive and watch it unfold in her masterful work.

For my romance readers, General Clayton Elliot and Princess Cordelia Monrovia are quite a match! Cordelia has joined her Uncle Ernest (reigning monarch) for his trip to England and is saved by Elliot when an attempt is made on her life. Elliot has been working his way up in the Home Office and volunteers to guard the Princess. These two have an instant bind, carry their own father’s secrets and have a gorgeously, slow build to love. I loved how much external conflict and logistics need to be worked out for them.

Thank you to Netgalley for the Arc. All opinions are my own.

A Problem Princess is an exciting and romantic conclusion to the Lords of the Armory series. I’ve read every book in this series, and each one is original, entertaining, and super swoon-worthy. This one follows General Clayton Elliott, a Home Office Undersecretary who suspects that an anarchist group is not disbanded, but just biding their time until the next attack. But when he saves Princess Cordelia of Monrovia from an attack, his plans change.

Clayton insists on becoming her bodyguard and ensuring her safety, as he is convinced her life is in jeopardy. Could it be Sceptre that’s trying to hurt Cordelia, or are there other reasons Cordelia is being targeted? And when they are forced to flee London, will they be able to fight their feelings for each other?

Throughout the series, the overarching plot has involved Sceptre, a powerful anarchist group trying to overthrow the monarchy. Though we learned more and more about the key players and major plans, the true leader and instigator wasn’t revealed until this book. There are a few unexpected twists and a satisfying conclusion as the Lords of the Armory all gather to defeat their long-standing enemies.

Clayton and Cordelia know from the start that they are not meant to be. As a princess, Cordelia’s life is not her own, and her uncle has made it abundantly clear he will choose her future husband. Clayton is not high enough in rank to even be an option. However, feelings and attraction don’t really care about rules or social class. Cordelia and Clayton fall deeply for each other, and they are both filled with angst over their predicament. They have amazing chemistry, and while on the run, they spend a lot of time together. They learn a lot about each other, including their tainted pasts and family secrets, which only strengthens their connection. I enjoyed the emotional depth of their relationship and how open they are with each other. I think they help each other face some hard truths in their lives, and they give each other the strength to face their burdens.

I thought this was a great conclusion to the series. It was fast-paced and suspenseful, many of my favorite characters from other books in the series had roles in this one, and the love story was super romantic! I also really enjoyed reading the Author’s Note at the end and learning about the true events, the historical climate of the time, and more.

Thanks so much to NetGalley, Sourcebooks Casablanca, and the author for providing me with a copy of the book. All thoughts are my own.

Anna Harrington's A Problem Princess is a sensual, road trip romance, full of espionage and intrigue! Harrington's writing is easily engaging, well paced, and beautifully balanced between plot and romance. A Problem Princess is very much a plot driven novel in which the heart is the romance between a Home Office Undersecretary and Viscount with a Princess. Harrington weaves together an on the run, forced proximity, body guard style romance to perfection! This novel will quickly sweep you up and keep you along for the ride. Harrington's characters are interesting and watching their romance develop will leave you with a smile on your face! This is the sixth novel in Harrington's Lords of the Armory series, and I find that it can easily be read as a standalone, I have read novels on and off in this series and not all in order and never feel lost in any strong underlining interwoven plot.

This novel really has many wonderful tropes supporting it, and if one or any of them are of interest to you , you will easily be swept along into this fast paced romance. I really was charmed by both our hero and heroine, they are both strong and determined in their own rights. I love we see them work together and protect each other. I love that the heroine is bold and unassuming, she wants to do what is best for her country, but she will also learn to fight for her happiness along her journey. I love that the heroine is willing to take her happiness when and where she finds it and does not worry about what rumors or judgements will come from it. I love the way that Harrington builds the tension and chemistry between the hero and heroine, and that we see how the physical side of their romance conveys a deep level of trust and respect. I love that the hero only want what is best for the heroine and that he respects her and trusts her to speak her mind.

I always love a road trip romance, and the on the run/bodyguard aspect of this novel really drives up the pace and plot in such a fun way! If you are looking for intrigue and romance than this novel is packed full of it! I would definitely highly recommend picking up with novel, you are sure to be delighted!

(4.5 Stars) This is the sixth and concluding book in the Lords of the Armory series. The series combines mystery/palace intrigue plots with romance. Scepter, an anarchist group called plotting the overthrown of the monarchy, has been the ongoing villain in the series. General Clayton Elliott, Home Office Undersecretary, is still hunting the ringleader and those helping him. When arriving for a party thrown by the Prince Regent Clayton, saves a woman being dragged away at knifepoint. She is Her Serene Highness Princess Cordelia of Monrovia. Cordelia has come to London for a political marriage that will strengthen ties between the two countries. Cordelia is also in line for the British throne. Clayton volunteers to over see her protection. After another attempt is made on the Princess and fingers are pointing at Clayton the two only have themselves to rely on. He also turns to his trusted friends to help him stop Scepter once and for all.

I’ve enjoyed this exciting series and A Problem Princess is a fitting and exciting culmination. The villain isn’t a shock but kudos to the author for weaving real history into her storyline. Cordelia is wonderful as the princess willing to do all she can for her country and for love. Clayton gets the perfect person for him and gets closure on his past. And I love that other MCs get appearances. I think this may be my favorite book in the series. I will be waiting to see what adventures the author takes me on next.

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the ARC and I’m leaving a voluntary review.

After waiting five books for Clayton's story and being my most anticipated romance this year, this fell completely flat for me. The romance wasn't believable nor the character development or how the overarching plot of the series suddenly threw a whole new curve only to be wrapped up so quickly. Every other book in this series was fantastic but this one just completely missed the mark for me. It's sad to see the series ended this way.

I really enjoyed reading this book.

The two main characters are very likeable and there is a strong chemistry between them from the start.

The writer describes the era in the book very well, which is very important to really enjoy a historical romance. This gives it an air of authenticity.

3 1/2 stars. This works OK as a standalone as well as being a decent wrap-up to the series. I enjoyed the chemistry between Clayton and Cordelia, although their relationship is on the insta-lusty side and Clayton's reluctance to get involved with Cordelia romantically seems to turn a quick 180. I have to be honest, I love the cover (yes, I can be shallow) and I love a good spy plot but I'm not big on books that feature princesses, so I was a bit cynical going in. I felt that Cordelia was surprisingly forward with Clayton, considering her character bordered on "Mary Sue" territory. The moaning about duty at times got a bit tiresome, and the part of the book when she gives the outrageous behavior of royals and other heads of state a pass due to their strict upbringings elicited a snarky chuckle from me.

I did like Clayton; he was probably my favorite element of this book. He engaged my interest starting from page one. I thought the Sceptor/mystery angle would be more prominent in the first half, but that part of the plot is more focused on Cordelia's strained relationships. As the plot continues, there are your standard tropey scenes (why, in so many HR's, when the MFC is running, does she have to turn her ankle, forcing the MMC to assist her?). There's also a bit of repetitiveness in Cordelia's reactions. What saves most of the scenes with them together is Clayton's honesty and his emotional openness.

Everything was tied up neatly in the end, and although I was happy for Clayton, I think I would have been more shocked by the plot twist had the two baddies been more likable characters to start with.

Overall, though, this is a light, enjoyable read with level 3 steam, particularly in the last third.. Language is mild.

I read an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my voluntary review. Opinions are my own. Thanks to the author and publisher for this opportunity. Publication date: April 11.

By no means was this my favorite book or super good or anything. But I was enjoying myself for the first time in months. And for it to be ruined!!!!!! Are you fucking kidding me? I am PISSED!!! I've been having a tough time getting into books and for one to be ruined by sheer fucking stupidity!!!! Why do this to me, literally why?

So the whole book even up to this point, the hero will make moves on the heroine and then apologize and say he shouldn't blah blah over and over and the poor girl is basically begging him to just forget her princess status and to quit apologizing to her. There's nothing wrong with this type of back and forth, however it isn't my favorite set up. But I was getting over it!

Spoilers:

I could also ignore the brothel madame flirting with him because he made it seem like he never had a relationship with her. However, what I couldn't ignore was the brothel madame pushing her tits against him and "slipping her hand familiarly behind his nape and brushing her lips against his in goodbye kiss" and saying "when I think of ropes and handcuffs Ill think of you" WHILE THE HEROINE WAS IN THE OTHER ROOM WHEN H/h just had just been intimate!

What is it that compels these authors to write these things? Yeah this is mild compared to some things in books, but why would I want to read this bullshit in a ROMANCE novel??? How is another woman, a brothel madame at that, kissing the hero romance? It will never make sense to me.

So yeah. That was super fun.

Back to square one.

I won't rate this because I didn't finish and I was enjoying myself to prior 56% but lemme tell you I am LIVID!

General Clayton Elliott, Home Office Undersecretary and new viscount, gets suspicious when London is too quiet. Everyone says that the anarchist group, Sceptre he's been fighting died when its leader, the Marquis of Hawking was executed but his instincts say just the opposite. Then he meets Her Serene Highness Princess Cordelia of Monrovia. Resigned to doing her duty for her country, she is in London to make a match with a royal duke and as a royal princess, she has no say in which duke she'll marry. Then she is shockingly attacked at a party, Clayton saves her & becomes her bodyguard. Then there is another attack & the pair flee London
The sixth & final book in the series, which could be read on its own but to fully appreciate it I’d recommend reading in order plus the series is seriously good. Strong characters, a fast paced story & a lovely mix of fact & fiction had me engrossed in this lovely romance plus there was the mystery surrounding Spectre to be fully revealed. There were twists along the way, which added to my enjoyment but it was the relationship between Clayton & Cordelia, which was so romantic. I loved how their feelings grew & deepened. He was swoon worthy from being so protective to melting my heart when he sat back whilst she ‘made’ a meal. Cordelia grew in confidence but also became the woman she wanted to be. But a Princess & the son of a murderer how could they have their HEA? You’ll have to read to find out what happens
My review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

How does she do it?! Each time I read a new book of hers I think that this it, this one will reign supreme as my favorite… and she did it again, I have a new favorite. Needless to say I loved the book.
The chemistry between Her Serene Highness Princess Cordelia of Monrovia and General Clayton Elliott jumps off the page. There is something so endearing about Cordelia and her struggle to do what’s expected of her versus what her soul longs to do. Plus I have been (not so patiently) waiting for Clayton to meet his match!
This book is filled with amazing chemistry balanced with sweet moments. This is a must read in the Lords of the Armory series.
I received this book from the publisher/author at no cost to me and volunteered to read it; my review is my honest opinion and given without any influence by the author or publisher.

“The heart can’t always have what it wants.” Luckily for me, I read romance novels where it CAN have what it wants! Now, hand over your heart, Clayton.

Anna Harrington delivers an electrifying conclusion to one of my favorite series, Lords of the Armory. A Problem Princess is a total page-turner, brimming with intrigue, heart stopping action, steamy romance, and heartfelt emotions. Scepter is back and so are the dashing heroes from previous books!

General Clayton Elliott must protect Her Serene Highness Princess Cordelia of Monrovia. Someone is trying to harm the lovable princess. Is it Scepter or is there another evil force behind the assassination attempts? I love how everything comes together in this satisfying finale. Secrets will be uncovered. Hearts will be mended. Lives will be changed. I was already invested in the Scepter storyline, but my priority is always ROMANCE!! And how good was the romance between Clayton and Cordelia! I loved it! I also enjoyed reading the author’s note.

If you like action packed, steamy historical romance, you’ll enjoy this. Each book in this series is better than the one before. But this one might be my favorite!

CW: Explosions, gunfire, and a bit of violence.

My thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the e-ARC. This is my honest review.

A thrilling conclusion to the mystery of Scepter. The story is packed with tension, intrigue and of course, love. Princess Cordelia never could seen all the ways the visit to Britain would change her life, none more so then meeting General Clayton Elliot. After stepping in to protect the princess, a wild journey begins fully wrapped up in the ongoing mystery of the reform organization, Scepter. In this stunning conclusion, we finally learn the identity of the head of this nefarious group. The story keeps you on the edge of your seat through each twist & turn. I was fully engrossed from start to finish. Clayton and Cordelia truly bring out the best in each other and are the perfect match. A well told story!

Clear your schedule and dive into the latest installment in Anna Harrington’s marvelous Lords of the Armory series. A Problem Princess takes us on a thrilling adventure with Home Office Undersecretary General Clayton Elliott and Her Serene Highness Princess Cordelia of Monrovia. Brimming with the palace intrigue of two countries, Clayton and Cordelia must face their differences - in rank, their personal duty to their respective countries, and the anarchist group Scepter - if they are to achieve their happily ever after. Highly recommended, as is the whole Lords of the Armory series. Can’t wait to see what Anna Harrington has in store for us next.

A Problem Princess will be published April 11. I received an advance copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

A continuation of the series about the eveil group Scepter that threatens England. This time the story is about General Clayton Elliot, new viscount and Home office undersecretary. Princess Cordelia was supposed to make a match with one of the royal duke but was attacked at a party. Clayton becomes her bodyguard and they fall in love....

Love this series... It's steamy and romantic. Love Clayton and Cordelia together. They are perfect together. A terrific plot with a intriguing mystery.

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

It’s been about six months since the conclusion of the previous book which saw the supposed head Scepter killed. Clayton is positive the group is still out there in the shadows and is driven to leave no stone unturned in his quest. However, if Scepter is truly gone, his next mission is to uncover the truth about his father’s conviction and hanging years ago.

Cordelia is the Princess of Monrovia, distantly related to the British monarchy. She’s in London to express her condolences over Princess Charlotte’s death in childbirth; however she understands her true duty is to snag a royal husband. Orphaned 10 years ago, when she was 14, she was raised by her Uncle and Aunt. When someone makes an attempt on Cordelia’s life, Clayton is there to save her. Convinced it’s part of a Scepter plot, he integrates himself as head of Cordelia’s safety.

Cordelia and Clayton are perfect for one another. Both without family, both tied to inescapable duty, and both have the need to discover the truth about their fathers and if they were innocent of the accusations brought against them. I enjoy how they discuss duty and how it’s shaped their lives. The romance is flirtatious, sweet, and sexy. The pair fits as they help each other to be better versions of themselves. The problem? She’s a princess who must marry a royal. But I love that she wants him and goes for it.

While each book is a standalone romance, there has been an overarching plot about Scepter, a group of anarchists who intend to disrupt England’s government. The Scepter aspect comes to a spectacular close in A Problem Princess. While there may have been clues in earlier books, I never picked up on them; however, as soon as this one started, it was pretty obvious who the “bad guy” would be - although I did not anticipate how far their reach extended.

In the end, A Problem Princess brings a fantastic end to the Scepter story arc. The author allows the series to conclude with a bang, while putting all of the pieces together in a fun way. I also enjoyed her “based on history” section after the story was over.

My Rating: B+

An engaging mystery story but I wasn’t as invested in the romance as the previous two. Although the drama of the plot finally unravelling kept me glued to the pages.

Amazing ending to a great series!

I have been eagerly waiting to see who steals Clayton's heart and Cordelia could not have been more perfect. Cordelia is a Princess through and through but she is kind, compassionate, and strong. She is the perfect complement to Clayton and their goal to make life better for those less fortunate. Also their chemistry is 🔥.

If you like historical romance this series I absolutely recommend. Anna Harrington was able to create a world that encapsulates the idea that life isn't just black and white, right vs wrong. She shows us life and love are so much more nuanced. She's an auto buy author for me!

Give me all the princesses with their strong bodyguards!

Honestly, I probably would have enjoyed this more if I had read anything else in the series. Its plot calls heavily back to the events of previous books. However, overall it was a fun adventure.
If you’re looking for a fast paced, tense story, this could be for you. Both the MCs are very likable and textured characters. The writing is excellent. I really felt it captured the issues of the times in which these characters lived.
It was so good that I may go back to the first book (this is book 6) and start over, and maybe when I do my rating will go up.

Star Rating: 3.5/5
Tropes: Bodyguard, spies
CW: Death, violence

This was a really fun, quick read that balances sweet and steamy nicely. I was a little unsure about the first couple of chapters, but once it settled in with the characters, I got lost in it and in watching the leads grow closer. Did they go from strangers to I-can't-live-without-you a little faster than I expected? Maybe, but putting the plot's historical inspiration aside, this is pure fantasy, and I thoroughly enjoyed it as such.
