J. Rose Black weaves stories about obsession, redemption, and the transcendental power of love. From her early days writing fanfiction for a passionate following of international readers, to crafting novels with her own characters, Rose has always been drawn to broody protectors and plucky, no-nonsense women ready to fight for what they believe in.

When Rose isn’t deeply immersed in her latest manuscript, she’s working in cyber security and thwarting the next generation of internet bad guys. Out of the office, she’s #Shipping with friends over her favorite, swoon-worthy couples, heading to the gym to battle the great evil that is Unmovable Baby Weight, or complaining about her husband’s addiction to 3D printing. Also: nagging her children to

And when I say 0, I mean my 7yo draws better than I do. I think, anyway. It’s a mood. But between ebook covers (so many pretty premade […]

so sweet and love the new illustrations

I hadn’t read this one in a hundred years it felt like, but with the new illustrations, my kids adored it as much as I remembered loving it when I was a kid.

It deserves to be a classic.

Super Cute Seek & Find adventure

My 3yo son adores “Happy Ween” and spooky things. So this one amused him…almost too much (look, big sister can read it to you for the 18th time)

He laughed and pointed and turned the pages and wanted me to read it and t

“If there was one thing a former sniper could do well, it was wait. Patiently. Quietly. Without a sound. Barely a movement. Just him, a quiet mind and his breath.”
J. Rose Black, Losing My Breath

“Warmth radiated from her skin in waves. Her pulse beneath his fingertips. The telltale flutter in her neck. Life. It mattered, was precious. And could be taken away in an instant.”
J. Rose Black, Losing My Breath

“I can’t do more than this. Don’t ask me. If you ask, I’ll try and I’ll fail. You’ll end up hating me. And I’d rather die . . . than have you hate me. Or disappoint you. My own darkness, it still chips away at me.”
J. Rose Black, Losing My Breath
