It was so flipping funny, yet also poignant and tender. Oh! And I loved MY ROOMMATE IS A VAMPIRE by Jenna Levine- it was a campy great time! I'm currently reading an early version of THE STRANGER I WED by Harper St. George and OMG, this historical needs to be on your 2024 TBR! *insert all the fire emojis*(less)

Several times I've dictated a scene or a passage of dialogue, and that pushes me through the barrier. Or I skip ahead to write a scene I already know the details for; once I wrote the epilogue for a book, and backtracked from there. When you're on deadline, there's no time for writer's block. You have to keep moving the story forward, even if it's in bits and pieces. (less)

“Beth’s parted lips eased the tension in his muscles, and he clasped her hand, placing her palm flat against the spot directly over his heart. “It has beat for you since the moment we met.” His breath was ragged. “And despite how I’ve tried to deaden it to the world, seeing you again brought it back to life.”
Liana De la Rosa, On a Midsummer Night

“It's rather unfair, don't you think, that women are criticized for the very thing men do all the time.”
Liana De la Rosa, Ana María and the Fox

“A woman's reputation is a tenuous thing. She could live her entire life virtuously, be held up as an example to follow, and one wrong step will see her tumble from grace.”
Liana De la Rosa, Ana María and the Fox

“When a woman reads a romance novel, she is putting her own pleasure first. That small act of rebellion is perceived as a threat to the status quo. It’s also why this eternally popular and profitable genre has been scorned, ridiculed and dismissed.”
