A driver was taken to hospital following a crash in Gloucester on the A40. Emergency services were called to the scene between the Toby Carvery and the Over Roundabout on Friday night (July 5) at 7.46pm after receiving reports that a vehicle had rolled on the road.

A video of the scene shows a car crashed off to the side of the road with police and firefighters surrounding it. Two engines were called from Gloucester and Cheltenham stations.

The fire service said an individual involved had to be cut out of the vehicle. Police and ambulance also attended the scene and the driver was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol for treatment.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Police said: "We were called at around 7.35pm today (Friday) with a report a vehicle had rolled on the A40 at Over near to Toby Carvery. Police, fire and ambulance services attended the scene and the driver has been taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.

"The vehicle has been recovered and the road has been reopened."
