Anthony Joshua has been warned about the danger of Daniel Dubois. The two Brits could meet later this year with the IBF title possibly on the line.

Joshua’s plans were scuppered when Tyson Fury was beaten by Oleksandr Usyk in the heavyweight unification fight in Saudi Arabia last month. And he could have to face the dangerous Dubois while Fury and Usyk prepare for their rematch on December 21.

The heavyweight pair are rumoured to meet later this year and the IBF title could be on the line with Usyk set to be forced to vacate the belt after he obtained the title by beating Joshua via unanimous decision in 2021. It was speculated the IBF title could have been vacated in time for Dubois’ fight against Filip Hrgovic in the Queensberry vs Matchroom 5 vs 5 event, but it never materialised.

Dubois beat Hrgovic via an eighth-round stoppage to be named the vacant IBF interim and set up another huge fight so early in his career against Joshua after he was previously stopped by Usyk last year.

Fellow British heavyweight Frazer Clarke, who is touted to be rematching Fabio Wardley on the proposed Joshua vs Dubois undercard, believes that the 26-year-old can cause AJ problems if he works on his defence.

"I still have AJ as a favourite just because of the experience and I feel like if Daniel took the same 30 shots off AJ as he did off Hrgovic we'd be having a different conversation right now,” said Clarke when speaking to Seconds Out

"He'll have to tighten up in his defences but him and the team are not naive; they'll know that, but he's shown a different side to him. I look forward to it."

Clarke drew against Wardley in March following a split decision for the British, Commonwealth and WBO European heavyweight titles. And their highly-anticipated rematch could be on a blockbuster bill if the all-British main event materialises.

The former Great Britain Olympic boxer trained alongside Joshua and Dubois at Team GB and recalled one sparring session where he was dropped by Dubois, he admitted: "I have no shame in saying it, Daniel Dubois put me on my a**e with a left hook years ago. And he was young.

"I thought, 'Oh my God, this f***ing kid is something else.' Obviously, got back up and carried on sparring it happens in our division. "But yeah, I've been on the side of the ring where these two have really had good exchanges and stuff."
