Roy Cropper suffered a heart attack and was rushed to hospital in dramatic scenes but when a figure appeared at his bedside - a familiar face was uncovered.
Corrie: Lauren makes surprise return as she visits Roy
Coronation Street aired a suprising twist during Monday's episode as Lauren Bolton made a shock return.
The teenager mysteriously went missing from Weatherfield on February 23 after being sacked by Roy Cropper from her job at Roy's Rolls - and there had been no trace of her since.
Lauren has been presumed dead by Weatherfield police with poor Roy being sent to prison for her 'murder'. But viewers saw flashbacks that revealed Joel was Lauren's mystery secret lover and the person harassing her. Joel was revealed to have brutally attacked Lauren and left her for dead.
But her true fate was revealed during the latest trip to Weatherfield (July 8) as Lauren turned up at Roy's bedside as he was fighting for his life in hospital.
Following abuse from yobs and prison time taking its toll on Roy, he collapsed in his cafe as paramedic battled to keep him alive.

Roy needed an emergency heart surgery as his loved one awaited his outcome. But while Roy was hooked up to a ventilator, he had a surprise visitor - Lauren.
As Lauren disguised herself wearing a hooded jackt covering her face, she was spotted by Joel who was in the hospital's waiting area. She removed her hood and revealed her identity as she looked devastated to see Roy's life hang in the balance.
As the episode concluded, Lauren sobbed as she told Roy she was "so sorry" with it yet to be revealed what happens next.
But Corrie fans have been left asking the same question - is Lauren a figure Roy's imagination? Taking to X, one viewer wrote: "Maybe Lauren's an angel or apparition in Roy's comatosed brain #Corrie."
