Zoe Ball talks about Novak Djokovic's 'famous' kick

Zoe Ball was back on BBC Radio 2 on Monday morning with her co-star Richie Anderson after enjoying some time off last week. Catching up with their colleagues, Strictly Come Dancing star Richie, 36, revealed he went to Wimbledon on Saturday and watched Novak Djokovic play Alexei Popyrin.

Richie explained: “I went to Wimbledon on Saturday, I was on Centre Court and I was there when Djokovic was playing and it was at the same time as the England match.”

Zoe replied: “Djokovic was in great spirits wasn’t he, did he do that kick?”

After silence from her co-stars, Zoe reiterated: “Did he do that kick?”

A confused-sounding Richie asked: “His kick? Yes.”

Zoe replied: “Is that a famous kick? Does he always do a kick?” Richie answered: “He always does a kick, he loves a kick!”

The host responded: “Oh well it is famous then! Sorry, yeah, I have no idea. I just saw him do a kick and I thought it was because of the penalties, but does he always do that?

“Richie’s looking at me blindly like, ‘Oh, don’t worry about it’.”

Last week, Zoe had some time away from her BBC Radio 2 show, with Gaby Roslin sitting in as her replacement.

The break came after Zoe and her co-stars took the Breakfast Show to Glastonbury to bring BBC Radio 2 listeners the latest news from Worthy Farm.

Just days earlier, Zoe feared she had swallowed her tooth in a freak accident ahead of the festival.

The presenter explained: “So I'm on FaceTime with my brother Nick... We're discussing the ins and outs of Glastonbury...I picked my phone up. I was naked about to get in the shower - not what your brother wants to see. Anyways, I put my dressing gown on and we have a chat.

“I start flossing my teeth. So this front tooth, I knocked that out when I was very, very young - and then this one [the one next to it] I also knocked out so I'm talking to Nick and I've got the floss and it caught on the back of my tooth, it pings across the room and then the other one.

“And I’m in my dressing gown that's not tied, half my boob’s hanging out, going, ‘I’ve got to go!’. I'm scraping around, I've not got my glasses on, I can't find the tooth, ‘where's the other one gone?’ I thought I was going to swallow it.”

Zoe rushed to her dentist who was able to fix the took and she made it to Glastonbury Festival with a perfect smile.
