Clarkson’s Farm star Jeremy Clarkson was forced to make a humble admission after his spooky prediction backing Lewis Hamilton at Silverstone came true.

Former Top Gear and current The Grand Tour and Clarksons Farm star Jeremy was in attendance at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on Sunday and he backed Lewis Hamilton to win.

Seven time F1 world champion Lewis had gone 56 races without a win - his longest dry spell ever, with years of struggle with poor cars at Mercedes leading Lewis to switch to Ferrari for next season.

But Jeremy knew Lewis would do well. Speaking to Alpine before the race behind the scenes, Clarkson told them he knew ‘old boy’ Lewis would do well after he installed a weather machine at Diddly Squat Farm, something fans may get to see in the upcoming season 4 of the streaming giant’s hit reality farming show.

Jeremy Clarkson was asked: “You’re a local man. You know the area. You know the weather very well. Expert opinion. What do you think is gonna happen in today’s race?”

Jeremy then replied: “I have just installed at Diddly Squat my own weather station. So I’ve got a personalised weather thing. It’s Danish. Kaleb Cooper’s farm is a mere 15.3 degrees, mine is a balmy 17.4

“So what we do is we hit that and we go into the map, right, so that’s Chipping Norton, the blue dot, we’re gonna have a wet race. So my money is on either Lewis Hamilton or Fernando Alonso because they’re the old boys.

“Old boys do well in the wet.”

Lewis showed off a masterclass of driving, taking teammate George Russell as soon as the rain came down and then launching himself into contention with some well timed pit stops and a good stint on soft tyres on a drying track, while Mclaren rather threw away Lando Norris’ race with some poor strategy.

And Jeremy Clarkson knew all along it was going to happen.

@eshan.mirash said: “You were right. The old boys are good in the rain.”

@paulkuriarose said: “What are the winning lottery numbers this week.”

Jeremy Clarkson said: “I called that one right. First time ever.”
