Coronation Street: Joel offers to help Bethany

It looks as though evil Joel Deering (played by Calum Lill) could be brought to justice in Coronation Street in upcoming scenes.

Speaking about what’s coming up in the cobbles, soap expert Sharon Marshall teased there’s drama on the way.

While on This Morning, she explained to hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley secrets could be coming out. Playing a snippet of Friday’s upcoming episode, viewers saw Joel’s engagement dinner swiftly interrupted.

As a blonde teen walked in, she told Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) she was at the meal to speak to Joel, which resulted in him quickly rushing over demanding answers.

Speaking about the tense moment, Sharon commented: “Shaken, shaken. Is she going to ask questions?” And if she asks too many, it could finally bring about Joel's downfall.

Fans of the soap will know that Joel is the person who beat Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) before the teen vanished from the cobbles.

Many fear she’s been left for dead with Nathan Curtis (Chris Harper) currently behind bars being charged for her murder after hair, which was planted by copper Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), was found in his car.

Although Joel has remained undetected so far, it seems as though things could be about to change.

On Monday’s instalment of the ITV soap, viewers saw Joel get creepily closer to Sabrina Adetiba (Luana Santos) after offering to help her brother following his arrest.

While sitting on the bench, he decided to pour some liquor into her cup and pretended to do the same for himself.

Admitting that she reminded him of an ex, Sabrina didn't seem to mind the flattery. However, when her friend later showed up she was less than impressed.

Highlighting the clear age difference, she called him slimy and told her to stay clear of him.

Admitting that she knew he tried to get her drunk, he denied the allegations but the teen girl remained adamant.

Later on, she decided to confront the lawyer for giving Sabrina alcohol earlier on.

Explaining that she has a “big gob”, she told Joel that in order to keep quiet, he needed to pay her some cash.

She threatened: “Doesn’t sound good, does it? Weird old lawyer, chatting up young vulnerable woman, plying her with alcohol.”

Lying that he was trying to help, he managed to walk away from the friend, although it was clear she isn't going to let things go that easily.

Coronation Street continues Friday on ITV from 8pm.
