Becoming a Subscriber

Q: How do I subscribe through the Epicurious App?
A: Download the Epicurious App via the Apple App Store and follow the prompts to subscribe on the homescreen.

Q: Do I need a subscription to access the Epicurious App?
A: The app is free to download, but you will need a subscription to view any of the recipes.

Q: Can I sign up internationally?
A: Yep! Those located outside the United States can subscribe. Just note that payment will be taken in US Dollars.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: All subscriptions through the Epicurious App are charged to the payment method on your Apple account.

Q: When will I be charged?
A: You will be charged as soon as your order is received. It may take up to three days for the charge to appear on your credit card statement.

Q: Can I get a receipt or a confirmation email of my subscription, account details, or cancellation?
A: After subscribing, you can expect to receive a confirmation email from Apple within twenty-four hours. Epicurious and Condé Nast are limited in their ability to view or change information about subscriptions paid through Apple, so questions should be directed to Apple Customer Support.

Q: What do I receive with my subscription?
A: We have created a personalized recipe app that you can tailor to your needs and preferences. A single subscription gives you unlimited access to more than 50,000 recipes within the app. Additionally, you’ll receive unlimited access to all recipes across epicurious.com and bonappetit.com—with new additions every week!

Q: I have an active digital subscription to Epicurious and Bon Appétit. How do I get unlimited access to the Epicurious App?
A: If you already have a paid digital subscription:

  1. Open the Epicurious App and select Sign In on the homescreen
  2. Sign in with the email address associated with your digital subscription.
  3. If you have further questions, please reach out to Customer Service by calling 1-855-753-1037 (+1 332-239-2921 if outside of the US) or by emailing apps@epicurious.com.

Q: What happens if I already have an Epicurious (or Bon Appétit) digital account, but I am not a paying subscriber?
A: To access unlimited recipes throughout the app and across epicurious.com and bonappetit.com, you will need to add a paid subscription to your existing account and log in with the same credentials. Please follow the instructions to subscribe within the app or visit the subscription page on our site to decide which option is right for you.

Q: I’m trying to verify my subscription and log in, but I get an error that my email is already associated with another account. What should I do?
A: If you can’t remember which email address is associated with your subscription, please contact Customer Service by calling 1-855-753-1037 (+1 332-239-2921 if outside of the US) or by emailing at apps@epicurious.com.

Managing Your Subscription

Q: Am I able to access my subscription on multiple devices simultaneously?
A: Yes. As long as you are signed in to your account and your account is linked to an active subscription, you can access your subscription on multiple devices. Note: at first, you may have to sign in on each of the respective devices.

Q: How do I change my billing term from monthly to annual?
A: Any changes to your subscription term can be made through the subscription section within your phone's settings.

Q: Can I pause my subscription?
A: You can’t pause your subscription at this time.

Q: Can I purchase group subscriptions that multiple people can use?
A: This is not an option right now.

Q: How do I make changes to my email address or password?
A: Please visit epicurious.com/account/profile to manage your account information, including your email and password.

Q: I forgot my password or need to reset it. How can I do that?
A: Please visit epicurious.com/account/profile to manage your account information, including your email and password. You can also reach out to Customer Service by calling 1-855-753-1037 (+1 332-239-2921 if outside of the U.S.) or by emailing apps@epicurious.com.

Q: How do I update my payment information associated with my subscription?
A: Epicurious and Condé Nast are limited in their ability to view or change information about subscriptions paid through Apple, so questions should be directed to Apple Customer Support. If you have further questions, You can reach out to our team by calling Customer Service at 1-855-753-1037 (+1 332-239-2921 if outside of the U.S.) or by apps@epicurious.com.

Using the Epicurious App

Q: How do I save recipes within the Epicurious App?
A: You can save recipes by clicking the bookmark icons seen in the recipe detail screen and/or across all recipe cards. You can then access your saved recipes via the 'My Saved Recipes' screen, which is accessible via an icon in the bottom navigation bar. Only logged in users will be able to save recipes in the app. Logged in users can access their saved recipes only if they are subscribed.

Q: How can I update my dietary preferences?
A: You can update your dietary preferences via the “Manage Dietary Preferences” section in Settings.

Q: I used a previous version of the Epicurious app. Will all my saved recipes still be available to me?
A: Yes. To access your saved recipes in the new app, simply sign in using the same email address associated with your previous account.

Cancellation

Q: How do I cancel my subscription?
A: If you subscribed through the Epicurious App, you’ll need to cancel through Apple. If you subscribed elsewhere, you may cancel your subscription by calling Customer Service at 1-855-753-1037 (+1 332-239-2921 if outside of the U.S.) or by emailing apps@epicurious.com.

Q: If I cancel my subscription will I get a refund? How do I get a refund and what is the refund timing?
A: We currently do not offer refunds. If you subscribed through the app then Apple is responsible for all cancellation and refund questions. Please reach out to Apple Customer Care with any questions regarding cancellations and refunds.

Q: If I cancel my subscription, do I still get my benefits and perks?
A: The cancellation will be processed immediately. According to Apple’s policy, if you cancel a free trial, you may lose access to the Epicurious App. If you cancel a paid purchase, you will continue to have access until the next billing cycle.

Q: How do I restore an Apple purchase?
A: If you previously purchased a subscription via the Epicurious App, but deleted the app, you may need to restore your purchase. To do so, open the Epicurious App and select Settings then Restore your Apple Purchase.

Q: If I have canceled my subscription previously, how can I subscribe again?
A: Please follow the instructions to subscribe within the app or visit the subscription page on our site to decide which option is right for you. If you have any further questions you can contact Customer Service by calling 1-855-753-1037 (+1 332-239-2921 if outside of the U.S.) or by emailing apps@epicurious.com.

Subscribers With a Bon Appétit Print Subscription

Q: If I am subscribed to Bon Appétit magazine, do I also have unlimited access to the Epicurious App?
A: You will automatically have unlimited access to all the recipes throughout the app and across epicurious.com and bonappetit.com once you create a digital account associated with your subscription. To create a digital account, log in on bonappetit.com using the email address associated with your print subscription. If you have further questions, please reach out to Customer Service by calling 855-756-1671 (+1 332-248-1214 if outside of the U.S.) or by emailing apps@epicurious.com.

Technical Troubleshooting

Q: I am a current subscriber. How can I access recipes behind the paywall in the Epicurious app?
A: If you are an Epicurious or Bon Appétit subscriber, you will have unlimited access to the app. Please be sure to sign in on your devices—smartphones, tablets, and computers—in order to access the App uninterrupted.

If you do not have an account, please create one using the e-mail address you used to subscribe. If we cannot verify that you have an active subscription based on your e-mail address, you may need to enter your subscription account number or mailing address.

Q: I’m signed in, but am still seeing the paywall. What should I do?
A: If you continue to hit the paywall after signing in, there are a few likely explanations. You may not have a subscription, your subscription may have expired, or your account may not be linked to your subscription.

To link your subscription, visit epicurious.com/account/link and enter the email address associated with your subscription.

Q: Why doesn’t the Epicurious app keep me signed in?
A: Please keep in mind that social-media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Google’s Accelerated Mobile Pages, often use their own browsers with sign-in requirements that are beyond Epicurious’s control. (For example, if you browse Twitter on your phone, and click on an Epicurious link, the article will open in Twitter’s in-app browser.) Each of these browsers has varying abilities to remember sign-in information (or “cookies”), which may result in you having to sign in again. For the most seamless experience, we recommend browsing our recipes in the Epicurious app or online.

Q: I am trying to subscribe, but the system says I already have an account. How do I fix this?
A: You may have a duplicate account, in which case our staff would be happy to assist you. Please call 1-855-753-1037 (+1 332-239-2921 if outside of the U.S.) or email apps@epicurious.com.

Q: What should I do if the Epicurious app crashes?
A: Try closing any other apps that are running in the background of your device. You might also try common troubleshooting techniques:

  • Force-quit the app, then reopen it.
  • Turn your device off, then back on.
  • Delete and reinstall the app.
  • If the issue persists, please let us know by emailing apps@epicurious.com.
