Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater, overseeing a department of 23 city sites and approximately 50 employees. She has been with the company since 2012, previously working as a Cities Manager and as the editor of Eater DC, covering the Washington restaurant scene. She has previously worked for such publications as The Washington Business Journal, The Washington Examiner, Space News, CD Publications, and The Southampton Press. She is a graduate of the Poynter Leadership Academy for Women (2023). She has also spent 17 years as a professional theater critic (currently contributing to DCist, previously for Washingtonian and DC Theatre Scene); her work in arts journalism earned her a fellowship with the National Endowment of the Arts in 2008.
