Job Title: Executive Director

Job Classification:  Full Time/Non Exempt 

Position Summary:

 

At this pivotal point in its growth, Daya seeks a deeply compassionate and strategic leader with a genuine interest in addressing abuse and violence in the South Asian community. We are seeking a hands-on, results-driven, and collaborative Executive Director to decisively promote our mission in the Greater Houston area for years to come. The Executive Director will be accountable for the growth, sustainability, and impact of the organization and serve as the primary spokesperson with community stakeholders, partners, and funders. 

 

The Executive Director is responsible for the achievement of all operational and strategic goals, including donor development, fiscal management, board relations, staff oversight, compliance with legal and ethical standards, community relations and engagement, and all other administrative matters. Most importantly, the ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit to evaluate, design, and implement strategies and programs that address the mission and emerging needs in the field. Reporting directly to the Board, the Executive Director will oversee an annual operating budget of ~$1.7M+, a team of 12+ passionate employees and an endowment fund that is being planned for the future.

Core Job Description:

  • In partnership with the Board, develop strategic plans and goals, evaluate and implement programs and initiatives.

  • Serve as the organization’s lead fundraiser; identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with current and prospective donors to achieve annual revenue goals; lead annual fundraising events.

  • Oversee grants management and forge relationships with a broad spectrum of funding sources including corporations, public and private grant funders, government agencies, and individual contributors.

  • Guide the annual budget process and goals, monitor cash flow and financial reporting, verify program expenditures against funding sources, manage annual audits, and advise the Board on short- and long-term fiscal health and sustainability.

  • Nurture a culture that is supportive, trusting, challenging, energetic, diverse, and accountable to each other and the communities Daya serves.

  • Manage personnel matters including hiring and termination, performance evaluations, staff professional development, disciplinary actions, grievances, and compliance with agency policies and procedures.

  • Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with domestic violence and sexual assault service agencies, South Asian advocacy groups, local/state/national coalitions, legal and law enforcement entities, and other groups to advance the agency's mission and values.

  • Coordinate monthly Board meeting schedules, meeting agendas, and Board reports.

Pay Rate: Salary is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to skill set, level and years of applicable experience. Salary range for this role is between $140,000- $165,000, with a generous benefits package, which includes 100% employer paid health insurance, vision, 403b retirement plan with employer contributions, life insurance, short term disability, ADD plan, and competitive PTO policy. Relocation assistance considered.

Program Coordinator

 

Job Classification: Full Time/Non-Exempt

Reports to: Director of Programs

 

Daya seeks a motivated Program Coordinator who is detail-oriented, highly organized, and resourceful in problem-solving. Ideal candidates are clear communicators with the initiative to anticipate and solve challenges. The Program Coordinator will ensure the smooth operation of Daya’s administrative components for Client Services, Community Engagement, and Development programs. This role includes vendor research, data entry, procurement, scheduling, reporting, and other administrative tasks. The Program Coordinator position is 40 hours per week, M-F, 9:00am-5:00pm with some weekends and evenings for client emergencies and event support.

 

ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGEMENT

  • Research and compare vendors, communicating with multiple vendors and external partners

  • Complete payment requests for programmatic purchases, including obtaining signatures

  • Assist with the completion of reimbursement requests

  • Obtain compliance paperwork for vendors

  • Track all purchases and payments using existing systems

  • Assist staff with travel planning and bookings for program-related activities

  • Track and organize monetary gifts and in-kind donations for clients

 

DATA MANAGEMENT

  • Enter outreach and training information into Daya’s database and liaise with staff to obtain missing information

  • Assist with data technology to ensure systems meet compliance and programmatic needs

  • Support internal audits of electronic and paper client files

  • Assist in retrieving data for reports and program assessments

  • Liaise between Daya and data management systems (Osnium, OnSip, Bloomerang, etc.)

 

COMMUNICATIONS, PROGRAM, & EVENT SUPPORT

  • Manage communications to the client list regarding resources and programs

  • Take and distribute meeting minutes as needed

  • Design, proof, edit, and schedule community-wide emails about Daya’s programs and events

  • Support logistics for outreach events, workshops, volunteer activities, and fundraisers

  • Communicate with external partners, vendors, and speakers

  • Support staff in meeting material client needs such as transportation, crisis lodging, groceries, gift cards, and supply kits

  • Serve as backup for helpline calls

 

HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT

  • Assist in onboarding new staff on data entry and systems

 

MISSION SUPPORT

  • Promote an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration to accomplish all Daya initiatives (client services, outreach, and education) with staff members, other directors, and the ED.

  • Attend and contribute to staff meetings and other internal meetings.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in administrative support

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Dropbox, and scheduling tools

  • Ability to manage and organize multiple schedules

  • Effective working independently and as part of a team

  • Passionate about Daya’s mission

  • Able to troubleshoot administrative issues with initiative

  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance

  • Authorization to work in the United States

 

COMPENSATION

  • Salary – $50,000/annually

  • Paid medical benefits

  • 403b Option and company match

  • Paid Time Off includes 15 days PTO, all federal holidays, 2 floating holidays, and 8 hours monthly wellness time
