Not Your Typical Cycle: Where Does Real Estate Go From Here?

Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas

Co-sponsored by The Robert and Margaret Folsom Institute for Real Estate at Southern Methodist University and the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas

Real estate markets face a number of challenges. Elevated mortgage rates have locked in existing homeowners, and new-home sales are meeting buyer demand to an unprecedented extent. Multifamily markets are contending with new supply and falling rents. Meanwhile, disruptive trends like remote work, surging e-commerce and industrial policy are playing out in different ways in office and industrial markets. This conference brought together industry analysts, economists and market experts to give their insights on the latest trends affecting residential and commercial real estate.
