Awais Azhar

Awais AzharAwais Azhar is a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Community Advisory Council.

Azhar is the deputy director of HousingWorks Austin, where he works to advance housing affordability in the Central Texas region through research, educational initiatives and advocacy.

He serves as vice chair of the City of Austin Planning Commission and chair of the Project Connect Community Advisory Committee. Azhar is also a member of the Austin Economic Development Corp. board and Capital Metro Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Community Advisory Group.

Azhar is a community and regional planning PhD candidate at the University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture. He holds a Master of Science degree in community and regional planning and a Master of Public Affairs degree from UT Austin.
