A TikTok sensation who jetted off to Tenerife to join the hunt for missing Jay Slater has revealed he's packing his bags for Blighty. Callum Fahim, who became a social media sleuth in the search, claims he's not seen a penny of the cash raised through a GoFundMe campaign and is set to return to the UK after a fortnight in Spain.

Callum took the plunge and headed to Tenerife after a digital chat with Jay Slater's mum, Debbie Duncan. As of Thursday eve (July 4), the GoFundMe pot for Jay's family hit a whopping £49,507, smashing the initial £30,000 goal.

Just yesterday, Debbie hopped on to the fundraising page to drop a massive thank you to all the generous souls out there and shared the plan to splash the cash on the rescue squads and volunteer heroes joining the search for Jay.

But, speaking to Sky News, Callum Fahim spilled the beans that he hasn't seen any of the fundraiser. Fahim said: "I haven't had anything from the GoFundMe. We have not had a bit of essentials paid for.

"I've never had any money from them whatsoever or even offers to go and pick anything up. If they had offered it, personally I would've said maybe a bit of a treat at the end of the week, but don't worry about it."

The TikTok detective told Sky News he shelled out for his own ticket to Tenerife and after a 'long conversation' with Ms Duncan, he's decided to 'withdraw'.

He added: "It's getting very out of control. The situation here is very dangerous at the moment. I have had death threats. I had a long conversation with her [Ms Duncan] and decided I'm withdrawing."

Jay Slater, 19, from Oswaldtwistle in Lancashire, has been the centre of a mystery since he vanished on the Spanish island on June 17. He was last spotted leaving an Airbnb in the north of Tenerife, near the quaint village of Masca, at about 8am, reports the Manchester Evening News.

The lad, who was enjoying a getaway with his mates Lucy Law, 18, and Brad Hargreaves, 19, had earlier been living it up at the Papagayo nightclub in Playa de las Americas. After the bash, he left with two British blokes to head back to their holiday digs.

His final pinged location was Rural de Teno Park in the north of the Canary Island a hefty 11-hour trek from where they were staying. Debbie, Jay's mum, has now blasted keyboard warriors spreading wild theories about her son's vanishing act online. She's made it clear that their trip to Tenerife wasn't for a jolly get the full scoop on what she said here.

In a twist, telly sleuth Mark Williams-Thomas, who's been sniffing around Tenerife, claimed earlier this week that young Jay allegedly nicked a pricey £12,000 Rolex before doing a runner and was bricking it when he scarpered from the Airbnb. And now, breaking his silence, the last bloke to clap eyes on Jay Slater before he went off the grid has spoken out.

Ayub Qassim, one of the chaps who brought him back to the Airbnb, stated: "He came to my Airbnb alive and he left my Airbnb alive."

"I let the geezer stay at mine because he had nowhere else to go, his friends had all left him. I know Jay, through friends, I'm not going to bring someone back to mine if I don't know them," he added.

After almost two weeks of scouring the vast and rugged terrain for the missing teen, cops have called off the ground search early this week. On June 30, they announced that while officers will still follow up on any new leads or information received, the intensive search efforts for the apprentice bricklayer since his disappearance are being wound down.
