Ianis Hagi's agent says he would be willing to dig deep into his own pocket to ensure the playmaker finds regular first team football elsewhere if he is not wanted at Rangers.

The 25-year-old joined the Light Blues in January 2020 but has fallen out of favour in recent seasons and spent the whole of last season on loan at Alaves in La Liga. The playmaker has been given an extended holiday after representing Romania at Euro 2024 but is set to return to Auchenhowie later this month where he will be assessed by Gers boss Philippe Clement.

Hagi has already been linked with a permanent move away from Ibrox and his representative - veteran Romanian Giovanni Becali - is determined to do whatever he can to make sure the player fulfills his full potential. Hagi is due to get married next week and Becali says he will use the occasion as an opportunity to help engineer the midfielder's next move unless Clement has plans for him next season.

Speaking to Digi Sport, he said: "Yes, I'm going. I'm going with my wife. I would be more than happy to help him find a team. I would spend money from me and my brother to find something for Ianis. He has an impresario who is very good to me. He has a contract with Rangers and I think he will start training with them. I hope that the coach will continue to consider him (as part of first team squad)."

One of the clubs who reportedly hold an interest in the 39-time Romania cap is Turkish giants Fenerbahce, now managed by Jose Mourinho. Becali is a friend of the 'Special One' but doesn't believe that he will try and sign any of Romania's top players this summer, including Hagi.

He added: "What do you think? He saw all our matches (at the Euros). If he liked a player from us, didn't he tell me? 13-14-15 million didn't matter anymore. Can I say take this one?"
