After getting a taste of performing solo, one Spice Girl is eyeing up the possibility of filling a Glastonbury slot without her fellow band members.

Melanie C made a surprise appearance during Orbital's set at the festival last month and is determined to play another show at Worthy Farm alone after her 2023 performance.

Opening up about the prospect of this in The Sun's Bizarre column, the Spice Girls star, 50, admitted: 'It would be quite nice to do it my own.

'I will have some new music out next year. I've only done it once myself, last year. The year before I had DJ'd.'

The singer said that a solo slot at Glastonbury would be a good alternative to the 'ultimate' goal of reuniting with Spice Girls bandmates Geri Horner, Mel B, Victoria Beckham and Emma Bunton for a performance at the world-famous festival.

Melanie explained: 'There's room for both me and the girls, but with them it would be the ultimate.

'There's nothing I would like more than to do it with the Spice Girls... but while they're making their mind up, I could! The girls have never been at Glastonbury because it didn't do pop in the Nineties.'

The star revealed earlier this year that she would love to reunite with the Spice Girls but dismissed Mel B's claims that the 'Wannabe' hitmakers were on the brink of a comeback.

During an appearance on the 'Sidetracked' podcast, Melanie explained: 'Mel, I adore her and she has this thing, and it can sometimes get us into hot water.

'Of course we're always talking, we'd love to do something else.

'I'd love to get back on stage with the girls but everybody wants to do something a little bit different or in a different way, so it's just trying to get everyone on the same page at the same time.

'But Melanie likes to manifest things and she thinks if she says it enough, it will happen.

'I can't confirm that there is anything happening soon but we're always talking about opportunities.'

It comes just after Melanie went public with her new man as the pair walked hand-in-hand around Glastonbury Festival in June.

The strapping lad was revealed to be Australian model and actor Chris Dingwall, a source revealed to Daily Mail Australia.

Signed with Ford Models and Chadwick, the 185cm tall hunk from Sydney, NSW, travels the world for glamorous photoshoots.

Believed to be in his 40s, an online biography for the model explains that Chris has 'over 20 years of print, commercial and film work with some of the worlds best brands' under his belt.

'Chris has been one of the most in demand male models in the USA, Europe, Asia and Australia for more than a decade,' it continues.

Chris is also an actor, writer and director for film and television, having helmed a handful of shorts, including the St Kilda Film Festival entry Oasis, in which he also starred.

It's unclear where the pair met, but Mel embarked on an extensive DJ tour in Australia back in May.

The Spice Girls was formed in 1994 with Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), Melanie Brown (Scary Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), and Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice).

The group is known for releasing hits such as Wannabe (1996) - which helped skyrocket their career in the industry - as well as 2 Become 1 (1996) and Viva Forever (1997).

Amid the success, a Spice Girls feature film titled, Spice World, was released in theaters and became a box office success. However, in 2000, the group went on a hiatus while members focused on their own solo careers.

The performers reunited from 2007 to 2008 for the Return Of The Spice Girls Tour, and once again for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

In 2019, the group came together once again to embark on a Spice World Tour - but Victoria did not join.
